Bongos?

Can anyone share their thoughts on Bongos in DTD? If not, some of your other favs in DTD? Thanks

There seem to be a few recent threads on Bongos, but I'll chime in here.

We have been to Bongos on three of our four trips to WDW.
First time for drinks only and we really enjoyed it and thought, we need to come back here to eat. So we did and LOVED it. We were last there last August and the food was good. We sat outside, so we lost part of the Cuban atmosphere. I think if we go back, we will request seating inside.

I love the flank steak! It is awesome.

I have eaten there three times and loved it everytime. I usually get the flank steak with the sweet plantains and yellow rice, even though the white rice is ok ( just a little bland) I cant say anything bad about it except for 1 time the service was slow, but every rest. has its good and bad days as far as service. ANother rest. that I would recommend in DTD is Portebello Yacht Club. Great food there.

I don't like the food there, but I'm fortunate enough to have authentic cuban food on a fairly regular basis, so my opinion may be biased. I will admit though, the flank streak is really good.

Its definitely a good place to get a few drinks and enjoy the atmosphere, even if you decide to have dinner elsewhere.

We ate there once.
The food was bland, almost no flavor at all, and the wait staff seemed more interested in talking amongst themselves than tending to the tables. The music was very loud.
Having since then had authentic Cuban food on several occassions, it makes Bongo's fare that much more of a disappointing contrast.

I'd go again just for drinks. I have since that visit tried the outside 'window' twice in a pinch, and it was good. Much better than the inside bland food we had during our visit.

I too liked the flank steak but found the prices a bit high. And, as noted elsewhere, it can be very very loud. A definite blah visit for me.
