The menu looks good. Anyone have any comments about Bongos? I'm thinking lunch would be less crowded than dinner. TIA.

We really enjoy it, and are big fans of Cuban food. Lunch was definitely less crowded - we were close to the only party there when we went for lunch one day. Going for dinner is a lot of fun, though, to sit on the balcony with the view of the water and the rest of DTD.

We've been there several times (love the location!) However, we found it to be a bit on the expensive side. Even the tamales, which were good, were over-priced (ioho).

You can read some other reviews here: Bongo's Cuban Cafe reviews (Orlando)

We ate there when we went. We sat outside in the "courtyard" area...great views and great food, too. I'd definitely recommend it!

We ate there one time for lunch, about 3 yrs ago. The place was fairly empty, and they acted as if they weren't ready for customers. It was kind of off putting...The food was ok, I'm sure I would have liked it better if I felt more welcomed there...

Not real Cuban food! I've had a lot better here in Miami. And their Cuban coffee was lousy. Would not go again on a bet.

Wow! I was going to say the exact same thing! This happened to us (on our last visit to the restaurant.. which is one reason why we don't plan on returning anytime soon). It was like they were doing us a favor by waiting on us. Very weird feeling indeed.

We have been there for dinner twice. Actually we were there just last week. Both times the service has been great and we enjoy the food. We like sitting in the booths because they feel very private, and overall we really like the atmosphere.

Ziggie- Really!?! Amazing! I haven't wanted to go back since, there are plenty of other places to eat...

Yes! I thought it was very odd too because the restaurant was nearly empty :confused3 One other time, we were asked to "sit at the bar and eat" because it didn't seem like they had enough staff to cover the table areas.

Over the years, (and this is just my opinion), it seems that the Bongo's in Orlando hasn't been attended to as much as her place in Miami.

I still feel the menu is overpriced tho :rolleyes1
