Bon Voyage breakfast during marathon?!

So I just realized that our ADR for the Bon Voyage breakfast is during the full marathon in January. Apparently the race goes right down the boardwalk. We are staying at the Poly and our reservation is for 8am. Is this a crazy idea? How hard will it be to get to that area from the Poly at that time? We were planning on taking a Minnie Van so I'm not sure if that will help at all. Will they know the road closures and how to get us around quicker than a regular Lyft or Uber? Also we are going to Hollywood Studios after breakfast. Can we still get to the ferry during the marathon?

Not sure I can fully answer but I would say stick with your plans. The Bon Voyage character meal is our favorite. It would be sad to miss it. The Minnie vans will definitely know their way around the road closures. We have been twice during the marathon. We didn’t have a particularly difficult time getting around on Disney transportation. The one thing I will say is if you are trying to get around HS during the race, it can be difficult. We had more trouble getting around in that park than in any of the others. Because it’s smaller, it felt harder to navigate around the closures. It’s only closed for a few hours though.

Assuming your party has no mobility issues, you can always just walk from Boardwalk to HS if traffic ends up being a problem.

Thank you!

Actually the marathon course goes right along that path...

Vehicles can drive from the Polynesian by going on World Drive to Vista Blvd past the Ft Wilderness entrance, turn to go past POR/POFQ and OKW on Bonnet Creek Drive. Then down to Buena Vista Dr over towards the Speedway Station and come in at the BW. They usually have one lane open along World Drive for Disney vehicle. Or the driver might even go the way back way through Windemere and on to Winter Garden Vineland Rd over to Vista Blvd and then past POR/POFQ.

I haven’t done a Disney race in a while. Had no idea they were now using the path. Although come to think of it, maybe we ran that during Dark Side? Guess I’d better get up to speed before giving out advice! 🤣

The marathon course since 2011 (at least) has used the path going between Studios and Epcot. (Actually I think any race that has part of the course between Studios and Epcot uses it.)
