We have reservations for Bomas for our trip mid-August. I have been hearing about all the construction being done at AKL. We have been to Boma's before and loved it but considering a different place if we can't see the Animals.

Does anyone know if the animals can still be viewed at the Public viewing spot?

Thanks, Beth

We ate at Jiko a couple weeks ago and I didn't see a hint of any construction. Personally, I think that unless you go there purposefully looking to check out the new construction, you won't notice any change. The animals are still out and plentiful around the public viewing areas.

There's a HUGE number of viewing spots all over the resort. The easiest ones to visit would be the Arusha Savannah outcropping (off the lobby), the sunset overlook balcony (past the check in desk on the left, just off the lobby) and the multiple ones out by the pool area (at least 2, maybe 3+).;

All of them are open. Construction is interior at the hotel.

I was asking myself the same question! We've never been to Boma and will be heading there in 2 weeks. Wanted to make sure you can still see the animals. I was fearing getting there and seeing only dump trucks and back hoes!

Just to be clear, you won't see any animals while dining at Boma. However, there are viewing areas in the Lodge.

Thanks for that clarification. We've never been. Is it worth going? Food sounds yummy and the grounds of AK look beautiful.

Oh, yes, definitely worth it. We love Boma and the Animal Kingdom Lodge is beautiful. We do Boma's every trip. We have an ADR for later this month. Can't wait! :thumbsup2

Definitely worth going. :thumbsup2 We also ate there few weeks ago and no sign of any construction.
