The guide book says it's awesome. Is it? Tell me why, please. Thanks

sorry, but we are among the minority who did not find it to be awesome. this is the opinion of 4 disney dining veterans. it was okay, but not one we are wanting to do every trip. i am sure you will have many, many who will tell you why the restaurant is so awesome, but for us it just did not make the grade.

I enjoy Boma. Not sure if I would rate it "Awesome". Definitely higher than a lot of other buffets, so in that regard it's probably the best buffet I've experienced at Disney.

Food was good. Nice variety and they seem to keep it fresh. Only complaint I can think of is the buffet area seems to be small considering the size of the restaurant. So, it can result in lines and congestion when you are trying to get your plate of food. It's not like some buffets where there are multiple lines with the same items.

I would give it a try. My 2 cents.

We love it for breakfast and dinner! Great food, different than your typical meal! :cool1:

Well, it could have been described as awesome, once upon a time.

Now it is just interesting if you like a little bit of a different choice on your buffet. It's not as luxurious as it once was, nor are the dishes as diverse.

If you've never been, then definitely try it, but it isn't nearly as exciting as when it first opened.

We ate there twice on our April/May trip, and we liked it for several reasons. Me, I liked having a variety of tasty vegetarian food to eat. DH liked the prime rib, and we both thought it was a good value (we were not on the DDP). Is it super-exotic? No, but it's also not just meat and potatoes. There were a few dishes I didn't like much, but most of it was very good, especially for a buffet, and some things were more unusual than others, in regards to the American palate. Being Disney, they're not going to put out the most exotic and most authentic ethnic food on the buffet, but it was a good selection. We weren't very wowed by the desserts, but other people rave about them. In general, I think it's the best buffet at WDW. Give it a try! :teeth:

We really like Boma and eat there very trip. The food is different then the norm for us. If you have never been there I think it's a must to do at least once.

We love Boma and eat there almost every trip. The food is very good as is the service. The only thing I don't like is having to wait so long after your ADR time to be seated. It happens every visit.

I am one of the people who dislike Boma. Having read all the rave reviews I took my two kids in 2004. Well, the food was bland - lots of it though.I dont find it in any way authentic, especially the North African foods.
The butternut squash soup was good but the soup with sausage and zuchinni was disgusting. There seems to be zuchinni in everything!!
This time the beef was fatty and tasteless. We all agreed on that. At least last time it was good.
The service just like last time was poor, only this time it was really bad. The server just didnt speak! The desserts, I find pretty bland too except for one - the banana bread pudding with vanilla sauce - it was delicious.
I did give it a second chance and it was worse than before. None of us will be back. It just wasnt good.

I liked BOMAs. My wife thought it was just alright. I will definitely go back. I thought Ohana's was highly over rated.

We also tried Boma because of the rave reviews on the boards, while we were glad we tried it, it was certainly not 'awesome' and I would not be in a rush to go back there.

DW and I enjoyed it in Sept. Was there a wait yeah but the bar was comfortable to wait in. The food was good with only the seafood soup having any real spiciness actually to it. I would describe it as American Afrancanized. Had good service and will go back again.

I had heard so much about Boma, so in June I tried it.

I enjoyed it. The food was interesting. I am always one to try food from different cultures.

My kids hated it. If I was doing a adult only dinner then yes I would go again. With my kids no.

We just had dinner there two nights ago and were left thoroughly underwhelmed. We had breakfast there a couple years ago when we stayed at AKL, but never made it for dinner and we really enjoyed breakfast. They rely too heavily on one spice (forgive me, not sure what it was - something in the cinnamon family maybe?) and it seemed half the dishes had that flavor to it and that was it. I tried a couple things that had no taste, but odd textures that turned me off (I'm big on texture)

Even dessert was less than stellar. I could have saved the table service credit and just got the zebra domes in Mara! LOL!

My family didn't think Boma was that great. It was okay. We felt this place was overrated.

We ate there a few weeks ago and it was super yummy. I loved all the spice and different flavors. If you like wine try the wine flights good variety and a good price. DS liked it too he had 3 huge plates of mac and cheese. The zebra domes were good too.

I didn't find that to be the case at all.

We had dinner at Boma for the first time last week. Our party of 13 loved it! Everything was fresh, there were good choices for the kids, and lots of yummy No African dishes that I like (hummus, couscous salads, both hot and cold, interesting rice and seafood dishes). My husband loved the Coke basted pork tenderloin.

The desserts were great, too.....zebra domes were yummy and DH liked the Chai tea dessert...can't remember exactly what it was, though. Even my picky 5 year old found plenty of things to eat here. We will definately go back. I enjoyed Boma more than LeCellier this trip.

We enjoy Boma a lot. My finicky DW and DDs get plenty of meat and potatoes, and I get to try something a little different. The soups are delicious. They also have some nice desserts.:earsboy:

we were underwhelmed by Boma last month. It was our least favorite meal of the week. Everyone raves about how wonderful and different it is, but we just didn't see it.

It was pretty much buffet food spiced.

I have noticed that people who admit to being picky eaters tend to really enjoy it, which could be why we didn't like it.
