What is your opinion on Boma? I am a picky aeter but love meats. How were there desserts?

For me it was just okay. I went there on the advice of many disers and was a little disappointed. I'm a pretty adventurous eater and it was good, but it was completely packed and the flow of traffic was not good. We had to wait in line forever for our food which was tough w/a 2 & 4 yr. old. And we had the worst service there of any place we ate on our 7 day trip. While the food was satisfactory, I probably won't go back. BUT for me it was worth it just to check out AKL.

Boma is actually one of our favorite restaurants. All of the soups are delicious. The salad's are all wonderful. There is usually a selection of several different meats and fish, usually roast beef, every time we've been there. We like to try different things, though. I have tried so many things that I wish I could learn to make at home. We go at least once each trip, and the last two trips, we have gone twice for dinner. (That is twice on a 5 day trip). We will probably do the same next visit. And the desserts were all good too, but too many to try them all.

We liked it ourselves. The Prime Rib was good. They had a variety of meats and a variety of Veggies. When we went it was busy and the wait to get a table was the most of any place we went. The flow isn't the best but each food pod is sort of independent so there's no real waiting in line to do except at the prime rib counter. We found the service was ok. They took the drink orders and kept the dirty plates from stacking up and refreshed the drinks.

I felt it was a great meal and would do it again.

If you're not staying at AKL, try to get there a bit early so you can go out on the observation deck and look at the animals. Also, the lobby is cool to hang out in for 5-10 minutes. The Bar was also nice.

DH was skeptical about eating here as he is a meat and potato man. He loved it! Now he requests it on every trip. He loves the meat, and I love the desserts and soups.

We love Boma. My husband is also a meat and potatoes kind of guy and he can't get enough of the meats there. We've taken just about every type of person there - vegetarians, picky eaters, hungry male teenagers - and everyone has really enjoyed it.

As for the desserts - wonderful. Here's a hint. Don't wait until you've stuffed yourself with other things. Every time you go up to fill your plate, grab a dessert. Just have your desserts throughout your meal. Works for me every time!

My family LOVES Boma! We went after spending all day in the Magic Kingdom. Our trip was the week before the hectic Christmas week so it was starting to get busy at WDW. The restaurant CMs sat us 20 min before our 7pm reservation despite loooong lines.

It was nice to be able to relax and see this gorgeous resort after such a hectic day. We enjoyed the savannah at night (CM's awesome and informative) and the Christmas decorated lobby.

The food was fantastic. My mom loved the soups. They have many different choices. The meat was also fantastic. If you are not to keen on the food there are also peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, regular pasta, numerous salads, etc. My dad loved the fruit salad with coconut pieces. Yum!! If you are a picky eater or there are picky eaters in your family, there are plenty of other alternatives to choose from. Just go with an empty somach and be willing to try new things.

My favorite part was the dessert section :cool1: (I'm seventeen, any teen loves the dessert section.) ;) The choices were plentiful- fruit tarts, zebra domes, cheesecake thingies, chocolate cake thingies, rice krispie treats, etc. I absolutely adore cookies and the cookies here were fabulous- the nice big kind. They had sugar, chocolate chip, oatmeal, chocolate chocolate, etc.

Everything was well stocked, the ambience was nice, the waiter did his job, other staff courteous, and the resort gorgeous. :thumbsup2 After eating here on our trip, we are now planning to stay in the AKL Concierge in August and will definitely eat at Boma for breakfast and dinner. This restaurant is hard to describe because it's so unique, I think it's definitely one of the best restaurants on WDW property. Hope this helped.
