Which one do you all think is better? We are planning one day with a late breakfast at either Boma or TH and then an afternoon at AK so either one will work with our schedule. We have never eaten at either for breakfast. I know TH has characters - other than that, any pros/cons to either? Any favorite?

FWIW, DDs are big carb fans at breakfast so waffles, french toast, muffins, etc would be a big plus. Anyone have any advice? JJ

Some people call TH "Boma lite". The food can be very similar. I have had both and it would be hard to choose between them. You will find lots of carbs at both and will be happy at either. Sorry that probably doesn't help much.

:)

I guess I am sort of leaning toward TH b/c of the characters. We probably will only do one or two character meals and this one seems to have some of the big guns. Does anyone know exactly who appears? Plus, it will be a bit more convenient for a day at AKL, although the distance isn't a huge deal as we have a car.

We did Tusker House for breakfast last week and it was by far the best food breakfast-wise we did (we also did Chef Mickey, CRT, Ohana, & Askershus). The characters were a plus. We'd definitely do this again on our next trip.

We did Boma for dinner, not breakfast, as well and did not find it as wonderful and I've read many posters write. I tried the zebra domes and they were yummy, but I thought the other dishes were too sweet or overcooked.

i vote for Tusker House as well. I love both restaurants, but having breakfast with the characters starts the day off better for us.
Another aspect is space. TH has all the food stations in one area - the "market" which is separate from the dining area and easier to move around than Boma. Boma felt a little crowded to me when we ate there last.

Boma is incredible, our fav meal and we always have a late breakfast there on check out day (tons of pics in my Aug review).

We are going back there in 6 weeks and I cannot wait!

When we go in Jan we will give Tusker House a try, since we are bringing our 2 nieces and one of them is a huge Daisy fan!

I got a great suggestion last month about late breakfasts on an AK day. They said get to AK at rope drop and ride all the large attractions. After that jump on a bus to AKL and enjoy a 10:45am ADR at boma. We are an mid 20's couple so characters arent really our thing but Ive heard great things about boma's breakfast and it gives us an excuse to check out the AKL which in all my trips Ive never been too.

We enjoyed Boma's breakfast. They have an incredible variety of things to choose from, including a carving station. My son - with 2 hollow legs - went up 4 times and tried everything. My daughter is a fruit and french toast kinda gal and she enjoyed those offerings. I enjoyed what I had, along with the pressed pot of coffee. Their signature juice is really something else!!! Give it a try - you'll enjoy it, then stroll around the grounds and gaze at the animals. And don't forget to stroll around the lobby - absolutely stunning. We will definitely go back to Boma and try dinner the next time.

I totaly vote for Boma! On our last Disney Trip we had Boma almost every day. I never got sick of it!

I have enjoyed Boma's breakfast - we've eaten there at least 3 times. But I have TH booked for october and I think my girls will like it better because of the characters.

I guess we need to decide if we want the character meal and that might resolve the issue for us. I am not sure how many other character meals we will plan so we may need this one. Thanks for all you feedback, it is good to know that folks have enjoyed both places. JJ

When I ate there, it was Mickey, Donald, Goofy, and Daisy (Hey, come to think of it, that's a pretty great line-up!). I've eaten breakfast both at Boma and TH. While the food is very similar at both places, the atmosphere is very different. If you want a peaceful breakfast, go with Boma. If you want hustle-bustle, characters, and a periodic parade, go with TH.

And convenience counts too.

We just had breakfast at TH last week and my 6 yead old DD loved the food and the characters. We have always done character dinners but my DD thought that a character breakfast was way better. I also thought the selection and quality of breakfast foods was great. We both had so much to eat at our late breakfast that we never had any lunch that day.
