Which restaurant would be better for a large group: Boma or Jiko? We have dined at both before, but only with a party of 4. Our next trip is a party of 14. The ages of the kids range from 15 to 3.
If you have dined at both of these, which one do you prefer? I'm open for comments and recs.

Jiko is fine dining. Boma is a buffet.

Your meal at Jiko will probably take twice as long from the time you are seated until you are ready to leave as it will take at Boma. There is a much greater selection both for fussy eaters as well as people willing to experiment at Boma, and there are lots of desserts for the kids.

Having small kids and teenagers both, probably Boma would be a better choice.

We did not like Boma. Every single thing on the buffet tasted sweet, even th meat and vegetable dishes. :confused3

For a large group like this, Boma would probably be a much better choice.

I agree that a large party would be better suited for Boma. The buffet has a little something for everyone.

Another vote for Boma.

We prefer Jiko, however, as others have stated, Boma would be a better choice with this size group and children.

I thought I was the only one that thought that!! Even the soups were sweet. After being in the parks all day in bone melting heat sweet was the last thing I wanted. Hummus and flatbread is what my meal consisted of there. Couple that with a waiter that just would not bring me a pot of coffee(that I intended to pay for)because I was on the DDP and it was a less than stellar experience I have no desire to repeat. Shame too cause it was the meal I was most looking forward to.

Thanks for the input, everyone! :thumbsup2

So it looks pretty much unanimous... it's Boma. Thanks in advance!:woohoo:

Boma was terrific! Lots of choices (even for the fussy). The spices used were definitely different. Lots of cinnamon (REAL cinnamon) and coffee flavors. But it was wonderful. I ADORED the chicken/corn chowder and the sausage cornbread stuff. The prime rib was good too and the mac-an-cheese? To die for!
