Have a 9:30 am breakfast for Boma and staying at POFQ, is best option to take the bus to AK and then to the Lodge or would Uber be better option straight to AKL?

I'd take a Lyft for ease of transfer.

Presently anti-Uber due to their issues.

Obviously using Uber (or Lyft) would get you there more directly and faster. However, I made it to a 9:30ish ADR at Boma from our resort (AoA) using the method you described. Bus from resort to AK, unload, wait for bus to AKL. It worked fine and wasn't a bad option. You just have to plan accordingly and leave yourself plenty of time.

We'll be doing the exact same thing next week. I also thought about taking the boat to Disney Springs and then the AKL bus, but I wasn't sure what time those options started running. Anybody know what time the boats start running from POFQ and buses start leaving DS?

Take a cab/uber/lyft. A cab will cost you $20 max including a tip, uber/lyft less, and it will take 10-15 minutes. It might take over an hour by the time you wait for/catch a bus to AK and wait/for catch a bus to AKL.

In the early morning hours, buses *from* parks *to* resorts can be iffy. Definitely allow extra time.
Agree. We were doing MK to Beach Club one morning, and we got in line and a transportation guy came over and ended up loading us into a van for private shuttle to the resort. Without it, we could have been waiting a while.

Uber or Lyft are always faster options. But we did a 9:30 ADR at Boma on our last trip and took a bus from Pop to Animal Kingdom and then hopped on a bus to AKL and had no issue but it did take around an hour.

Are cabs readily available most times at resorts or do they need to be called in advance?

Personally when I have early am ADR's at resorts I always use Lyft.
It's so much faster and doesn't cost more than $5-10, cab can cost more then double that.
For example Cab to any of the MK resorts (Contemp, Poly or GR) costs around $20 from POP.
I used to use Cabs all the time at WDW for early ADR's, until I discovered Lyft a few yrs ago.
Lyft and Uber are so much cheaper then a cab.
Cabs are sitting at most of the resorts. Occasionally they have to call one for you.

Don't know if it's the norm but we asked the bell hop at CS if he could get us a cab and it was there in seconds, they must have been in the parking lot when he called.
