I have read so many good reviews of Boma off and on this site that I am quite intrigued. We will be going to WDW with my in-laws who have good naturedly agreed to try Boma despite the fact they must be thinking 'What the heck are the tastes of Africa?? My FIL is a meat and seafood kind of guy. My MIL had a difficult time digesting pepper.

Can I get some responses about Boma so I can send them to my in-laws? How exotic is it or does it walk close enough along the mainstream to be a treat for all?

It REALLY is worth the try. The flavors are hard to describe, but I am a really, really picky eater. The descriptions may even sound off, but it's wonderful. I couldn't believe even I liked it. There will be somethings they like and some they won't (as with ANY buffet). The peanut rice is great, the boboti dish was delicious, the prime rib (they had med. rare and med. well) melts in your mouth, I'd stay away from the Pap it's like grits  but most everything is pretty good. Even my chicken finger, pizza, cheeseburger eating only DD (9) loved it!! You can't beat that!

Oh, if you do a search on the restaurant board there is a thread that has what they usually have out on certain days..so you can see what will be on the buffet on the day you want to go. BTW, the salmon was yummy too and I'm not a huge salmon fan.

Hi! I wonder if anyone could post a link to said thread? I've done a couple of searches and can't seem to find it.

TIA!! :goodvibes

We just returned from AKL and the kid's area had chicken tenders, mac n cheese, french fries and pasta (mostacolli) with meatballs. They of course can eat anything else on the buffet, but those were the things specifically targeted for the kids.

We finally ate at Boma this past weekend and we loved it! My husband is not very adventurous, but he still enjoyed it as well. I really like the buffet style because you can try all sorts of things you might not usually try, and then if you don't like them, it's no big deal. That said, there wasn't anything that I tried that I didn't like! Personal favorites were the carrot and ginger soup, prime rib with the mustard sauce, hummus, coconut rice and curry green beans...and of course the zebra domes which totally lived up to the hype!! DH and I left there wondering why we hadn't tried it sooner!

This was a Tuesday night in February of this year. I also looked for the daily menus (by search) and didn't find it. I'll keep looking! Hope this helps!

Dropped luggage in room, and headed to AKL immediately, for our 6pm PS at Boma's. We'd never eaten there before, and we were really looking forward to it. We waited about 15 minutes (were seated right around our PS time). Our server was Rashid or Rajid, or something along those lines. He wasn't outstanding, just okay. The food was great! Particularly good were the prime rib (and the tamarind BBQ sauce and the mustard sauce), the sirloin, which was in a very flavorful curry (but not too spicy) type au jus, the spinach and quinoa salad, and the falafel. We also enjoyed the gingery black eyed peas. I tried a couple other salads, and I didn't think they were very flavorful~just okay. DS had chicken and pasta marinara. I got him a few other things to try, which he did, but he didn't ask for seconds on anything. (He is a pretty adventurous eater, but he doesn't eat a large quantity at one sitting.) I think between the 3 of us, we tried every dessert! I'm gotta admit, we were a little disappointed in the Zebra Domes. They were fine, but we didn't think they quite deserved the rave reviews everyone always gives them. We really liked the chocolate mousse things, though. DS enjoyed the cookies. I thought the banana bread pudding was very good, and I don't normally like bread pudding. The pecan pie tarts weren't great, but then, we're southerners, and we *know* pecan pie! I enjoyed the passionfruit tart; DH thought it was "okay". The coconut tiramisu wasn't really to our liking, but we're not big coconut fans. After my (2 plates of) dessert, I went back and got more sirloin and falafel. Overall, we really enjoyed our meal, and would come back. Food: A Service: B Overall: A- (Can't find the receipt for this, DH must have it. It was around $60, with tip, as I recall.)

Incredible flavors, high food quality and an incredible selection. Our favorite Disney place!

We stayed at AKL last Feb. Ate at Boma's for Breakfast 2 times absolutly loved the 2 tens loved it Our server was very friendly and joked around> had a really good time!!!

Ate there last Sunday. 11 yr old daughter summed it up best. This place is great Mom! She tried so many different foods that night. There is something for everyone on this buffet. My picky 7 yr old tried a few foods. WAHOO, he ate something beside chicken tenders. DH loved the food and hotel

I'd love to hear about breakfast at Boma:)

There's another thread that I started running right now, entitled "Bomas or not???" It's a very good discussion of what's for breakfast?

We will be at Boma on a Saturday. I noticed the other two rotations had salmon or pork, but the third one didn't have any additional meat listed. Does anyone know if there is a meat selection on Saturday like salmon or pork? Thanks!

I was just reading the menu choices posted here---Where's the hummus!!!
I had the best hummus of my life at Boma. Please dont tell me they dont serve it anymore!!

For me, I was very excited to try out Boma, since I read so much about it on the boards. It was adventurous, the pasta salads were good, the salad dressing tasty, the gumbo soup and potato bacon soup were excellent, the sides were interesting, peanut butter rice, and the meats were o.k., the prime rib being the best. For dessert DH loved the bread pudding. The zebra domes were pretty good too. There was so much different food, it was hard to remember it all, but definitely try the gumbo, it's a bit spicy but delicious. Enjoy! :earsgirl:

They had hummus there when we went on a Monday in July. They also had chicken. I don't remember the coconut tiramisu..I would have loved to try that! I didn't care for the Zebra domes. I liked the pineapple cheesecake.
