I'm going to disagree with the majority. We really did not like Boma at all. (Double emphasis intended.) My son adores ribs and he couldn't stand them there. I found the food to be very disappointing, with choices like potato salad and slaw. Basically, it all struck me as American foods with African spices. The one exception to that was the soups, which were quite tasty. The watermelon rind salad was nice and cooling, but I was the only person who liked it.
Something to think about too though was that we went into dinner at 4:00 because it was the only reservation we could get for that day. We'd just spent the day at AK and were roasting hot. (The lobby of the resort felt great while we waited.) But that was also in very early June, like the first day. If you're going in August, it will be even hotter. If you find temperature impacts your appetite and enjoyment, you may want to reconsider eating there.
