We are trying to decide if we should or should not make reservations at Boma for our trip this August.

Please review ! : )

We had a fabulous time at Boma. Loved the food and the AKL is phenomenal. The most unique part of the buffet is the Soup pod. Unique, fresh and plentiful. I didn't take to the Zebra Domes as most do, but then again I'm not a chocolate "lover", like it, don't love it.

It is a definite DO OVER for 2008!

I think you will really like Boma! It is very different and AKL is gorgeous and worth a look around! We also like Jiko that is also in AKL! :cheer2:

We've eaten at Boma 3 times over the past 2 years and enjoyed it every time. The soup selections are interesting (they have multiple offerings), and the salads have everything from the ubiquitous bowl of greens to more exotic items (my favorite is a couscous salad) . The prime rib is solid, and the other "main course" offerings are good; however, be SURE to save room for dessert....heck, skip the main course and go right to the dessert board.:goodvibes I adore the mini tarts and the zebra domes. :wizard:

They also have an incredible breakfast. Our family loves it. We try to make it there for a meal whenever we're in the World.

We love it and highly recommend it.

You didn't mention if you are an adventurous eater or not. I am (most times), DH is not (beef and potato guy). Boma is DH's favorite restaurant in all of WDW. It is my favorite also.

Boma seems to have one of the best varieties of food on their buffets (both b'fast and dinner).

We looove Boma. We are HUGE AKL fans so the whole atmosphere is just great. The food is wonderful. We went with a group of people for dinner; both advetrous and picky eaters and all were satisfied and impressed. imO it is the best buffet in WDW quality wise.

We have been to breakfast numerous times as well and think it is one of the best breakfast buffets but I think dinner is a much cooler experience especially if you are open to trying new things. My sister in law who is extremely picky ate some things from the african selections but had some childrens items like mac n cheese and chicken on her plate as well just in case!

Well, I am going to differ. We went to Boma. It was okay--nothing spectacular at all. The only reason to go, in my opinion, is to look around the beautiful AKL. My husband and daughter did not like it at all. I also did not like the Zebra Domes and I would give my life for chocolate.

We loved it (and I'm a pretty picky eater.) We're going for a short trip in a month, and only made 2 ADRs. Boma was one of them, and the only one that we already ate at last trip.

Boma is our familys absolute fav. I have 3 little boys and they are very typical the twins are 4 so they exisit on chicken nuggets, macaroni & Cheese :lmao: my 6 yr old will try new things , he loved the soups esp the carrot ginger and butternut squash. Everyone loved the desserts. They also love to go outside and sit in rockers by the firepit and listen to stories told by CMs who live in Africa. Then we go to the Animal Guides and they use the night vision goggles (a fun thing by itself) and look for animals. We can't recommend it enough.

I made ADR's for here for dinner on 7/21. I'm excited but I'm just hoping that my DS5 will like it! But if they have mac & cheese and chicken nuggets, he'll be fine. Generally, I'm a fan of all food types, but this will definitely be my first venture into "African" food. I'm very curious......

Just back Sunday and we had dinner at Boma twice!! It's our favorite place to eat. You will enjoy it.

You have to try a zebra dome- they are my absolute favorite! Have fun.

We really liked BOMA; it is one of our favorite Disney restaurants (second to Whispering Canyon). The food was wonderful. My son (6) ate his weight in fruit, we loved the lentil stew and cous cous merakesh (sp). The ribs were spicy, but really good. The desserts were good - my family loved the zebra domes and the volcano dessert (cannot think of the name). I liked the mango tarts. My daugther said the strawberry tarts were really good. I don't think I tasted anything that I didn't like.

I would highly recommend it.

We were just at Boma for our first time on Monday night for dinner. It was wonderful and it is definately on our list again for our next trip!

Atmosphere was very cool with romantic low lighting. I didn't care for some of the salads or hummus (I am very picky about both!)-but it was just due to ingrediants, not preparation. The fufu was so good, herbed chicken was great, and I know this sounds silly but they have the best chicken nuggets (at the kids section) I've ever had! The desserts were the highlight-zebra domes, banana bread pudding, fresh baked cookies,....

You should definately go here!

I agree. We tried it twice. It was a yuck for us! And we're not picky eaters.

Hi
We didn't care for Boma either. The food was lukewarm, bordering on cold and it all tasted sweet. There were raisins in the rice. My girlfriend had prime rib and said it was good, and the best thing that I had was the butternut squash soup. I love chocolate and didn't think the zebra domes even tasted like chocolate. I thought this was going to be a great restaurant for me since I don't eat meat, but I was disappointed. You might love Boma. Most people do, so I think you just have to try it for yourself. We won't be going back. The AKL is really pretty, especially at night.

We really enjoyed it... the Chef was meticulous in helping us choose foods for our food allergic child (even more so than other chef's IMHO). Atmosphere was very nice... food was wonderful.

Our only snag was that the to accommodate us all (we added two to our party of 9 so 11 total) we were given a 4:30 dinner. Okay, yes, super early. But it actually worked well for out day. We got there... and there is NO one there but the kitchen staff. Other families are showing up... finally the host shows and tells us how sorry he is...etc etc etc, obviously there has been a mistake. They begin seating at 5:00... but didn't get to us until about 5:30 when someone in our party let him know we needed to sit ASAP. He got us to our table in no time at all...

And it was great.
