The first time we ate at Boma (in 2001), we thought it was possibly our best Disney meal ever. The following year, it was just another buffet with a few more exotic offerings. We almost didn't do it this year, but I'm really glad we did b/c I found it to be back up to the level of the first year. Our ps was early -- 5:30 -- which may have positively affected the quality, too.

As has been reported many times on these boards, Boma is a buffet that is divided into stations. It includes many exotic African foods as well as some very common American ones. One of my children is a meat and potatoes guy, and he loves this restaurant. He made prime rib (good quality for a buffet) his main course, and so did I, except I also tired all the exotic sauces. I'm sure I tried 20 or more things at this buffet -- highlights included the curried chicken soup, the mango salad dressing, the couscous salad, a curried pasta salad and the DESSERTS. I think I tried five desserts -- the zebra domes, the chocolate mousse, the coconut trimisu, pineapple cheesecake and some kind of caramel brownie-type thing (I did NOT finish all these things). The first three remain my favorites. There are so many wonderful-looking things at Boma that you can't try them all. For example, there were five soups and homemade cookies.

Another reason to eat at Boma is to visit AKL. After dinner, we walked outside and looked at the animals, then my two younger kids got the hidden Mickey list and found most of them. It made for a very enjoyable evening.

Thanks for sharing! I'm really interested in AKL restaurant reviews. I think we'll definetly give Boma a try.

Thanks for the review!! We will eat at Boma for the 1st time on 7/10!!! Can't wait!!!

Thanks for the review. My DH and I had the same experience at Boma -- we thoroughly enjoyed the food, the atmosphere and the service. We were staying at a different resort and enjoyed the chance to explore the AKL.
