We are concluding our trip with a Boma reservation. First timers and excited! Are the animals more active around sunset? I think I read somewhere that there is a balcony for sunset viewing open to non-AKL guests....true? If sunset is estimated for 8pm that day (less than two ways away), what time would be good to put our dinner reservation see the animals? A WWYD for the experienced! THANKS!

There is a big, public viewing area in the back of the lobby which is open all day long. If you want to be done with your meal around 7:30 pm to go out and see the animals, I would probably make your reservation for no later than 6:00 pm.

You can't see the animals from Boma. I'm not sure if you knew that, but thought it might help someone reading this in the future. There are plenty of public overlooks at Animal Kingdom Lodge - there are even night vision goggles available if you are interested in experiencing that after dark.

The animal keepers go out through the Savannas throughout the day with "browse" (basically snacks for the animals) to entice them to come to areas near guest viewing. If you have the time I would start the evening over at Kidani Village (the buses stop at both buildings or you can get a van shuttle from one building of the resort to the other) and enjoy their public overlook and save the Jambo House lobby for second as it is so GRAND!

Boma is delicious. Save some extra time before and after to check out the resort - it truly is beautiful.
