I posted this on the wrong board the first time. Hopefully, it's in the right spot now.

Glad I found this board.

I am going to disney in Sept for the free dining and love almost all of my ADR's. The only one I'm questioning is Boma.:confused3 We were originally staying at AKL so Boma made since. Now, we've been moved to Poly so now Boma is sounding a little odd:confused: . We are a family of four, youngest kid 20 y/o. Favorite food steak & seafood.

I've called to switch once and I could only get an ADR at LeCellier for lunch on the day we go to AK.

Is it really worth leaving AK to go to Epcot just for lunch or keep original plans for lunch at Flame Tree for BBQ and dinner at Boma. We are not using a car its disney transportation.

Thanks in advance for your hlep

It depends on what kind of food you want, they are different tastes. If you have the park hopper then getting in the park won't be a problem, and if it is for lunch then the busses/monorail to epcot will be empty.

I would say that you are probably talking about an hour travel time each way.

You would have to get from wherever you are to the front of AK, walk to the bus stop, take a bus (about 20 minutes to Epcot) and then go all the way through Future World to Canada. If you just miss a bus you will have about a 20 minute wait for the next bus.

A faster method would be taking a bus to the Beach Club, walkt through the lobby, out the back door, turn left and walk to the International Gateway and then to Canada, it is shorter.

But either way you will have a 20 minute bus ride plus time waiting for a bus plus time from where you were in the park.

Flame Tree is pretty good, and then do Boma for dinner.

Thanks for the info Cheshire about the short cut. :thumbsup2 We are going to the BC for dinner a few nights before to eat at Cape Maye and I'll check out the walkway.

So to open this up again... anyone ever left one park just to go to dinner at another park then back to the first park (using disney travel)? Is it worth it?

The day we are going to Animal Kingdom they have 3 hours late entry so it seems like we'd just be trading the middle of the day when it's busy to go to LeCellier and come back to AK when the crowds have decreased.:confused3

Of the two, LeCellier would be my choice :thumbsup2 . The food is excellent, service perfect and the setting a little more reserved. Boma was good (not great) and just a little noisey for me.

One word of advise: Get to LeCellier at least 20 mins. early! We arrived 2 mins. before our ADR's and waited 25 mins. to be seated:scared1: ! (okay, we were there during spring break, but it never hurts).

We've had PLANS to do this, but have never followed through. For us, its "get back to the MK to see Spectro" - and despite multiple trips, we never make time to get back to the MK to see Spectro - travel time isn't worth it.

The exception is MGM to Epcot - we can switch between the two of them fairly easily - its a twenty minute walk at a brisk pace between the back of Epcot and the MGM turnstyles - so its possible to spend the day in MGM, have dinner in Epcot somewhere close to the IG, and make it back for Fantasmic.

I will say that if its really important to pull off, spring for a cab. A cab will be waiting at each end and will turn the bus waiting and travel time into a quick cab ride (if you cab into MK, cab to the Contemporary and walk - otherwise you get dropped at the TTC and still need to get to the MK).

Time is money at Disney - the less time spent sitting on a bus, the better. And I LIKE Disney transportation.

I've been to both Boma and Le Cellier. Love them both but it would not be worth it to me to leave AK to go over there for lunch--even having my own car which I always do. I can't even imagine doing it with Disney transportation. Just a hassle that I don't want to take. I tend to like to do my main park for most of the day and not leave.

But, to each his own. If you don't think the communting would bother you--go for it.

As for Boma, it is very good. I've never stayed at Animal Kingdom Lodge and it never weighed into whether I would eat at Boma, so I'm not getting your logic there. I made my Boma ressie for the same day we were doing AK. Made the ressie for about 5:00 p.m. as we were done with AK by that time and needed the break.
