Boma or Sanaa

For our October trip we want to try one of the restaurants at AKL. I made a reservation for Sanaa, but I'm thinking maybe I should change to Boma. I initially shied away from Boma because I generally do not like buffets, especially Disney buffets. However, DDad and DMom are going with us on this trip and DDad said he read alot of good things about Boma. So, which would you choose and why?

I know a lot of people love Boma, I'm not one of them. I'm one of the ones who finds everything "sweet". I'm also not a fan of buffets, so for me, there's no comparison between the two. Sanaa is my absolute favorite 1 credit restaurant on property right now.

I love Boma and think their food is wonderful but I also love Sanaa. Sanaa has a lot of Indian influence. Both are flavorful but not overly spicy (except for some things). We make a point of going to both places a couple of times on each trip.

We've never eaten at Sanaa, but Boma is a favorite of ours and is a must do for us every trip .

We've eaten at both Boma and Sanaa and found the food at Boma to be superior. Boma has a very nice buffet with lots of choices. I love the soups they serve at Boma. Sanaa was fine, but I really only liked the bread service. Didn't care for the entrees.

We absolutely LOVE Sanaa! We also went to Boma last year for the first time and while the food was good...it was a buffet which means you have to deal with the usual buffet drama...

Besides, the food at Sanaa being great; the view is AMAZING!!! Huge picture windows right out the savanna.

We usually get the bread service with (3) dips, I have the tomato paneer soup with a side of basmati rice, and my DH has the tandoori chicken.

We are going for a quick trip pre-cruise and there will not be enough time for Sanaa and we are so sad

We've been to both a few times now and I chose Boma. While I think Sanaa is a nice restaurant, I can get good Indian food in several restaurants or at one of my friend's home. Sanaa's food is mild and not a good comparison to authentic Indian food. The choices are small in comparison to Boma.

Boma offers a much larger variety and for us at least, there are many dishes I've never seen anywhere else.

Just got back a few hours ago from a week at Kidani. We ate at both Boma and Sanaa. Wow, this is a tough choice. Boma has always been our #1 but I am going to pick Sanaa for following reasons:

1. Excellent wait staff
2. Boma has no "view" so to speak. At Sanaa we sat by a window and had an up-close view of the animals on the savannah while we were eating. It was like no other!
3. The food was a bit less expensive at Sanaa
4. Overall quieter atmosphere

I think Sanaa is now #1 on our list, Boma #2!

The difference for me is the experience.

Sanaa is a nice sit-down dinner with a limited choice of tasty menu items. Boma is a feeding frenzy with a huge assortment of great food.

I would say the food at Boma is better, but the overall "dining" experience at Sanaa is better.

Been to both. I think Jiko is the best over at AKL, but that wasn't your option. Of the two, I voted for Boma. I am not a fan of Indian food, and Sanaa's menu had a lot of food with that influence. The view from the restaurant was terrific. At one point, it looked like a giraffe was going to walk inside the restaurant.

Sanaa really isn't all that when it comes to Indian food. I would choose Sanaa if I didn't feel like a buffet, but I think I'd rather have the variety of Boma.

And I'd easily take Jiko over both of them.

Yes, I guess based on the results, I can't go wrong with either one. I think I've decided on Boma just because I'm not sure DMom and DDad will like the food at Sanaa. We'll just have to try Sanaa next year.

If you want to eat at Sanna and see the animals go when it is still light out. The Breakfast at Boma was really good. But we like the regular buffet too.

I chose Sanaa! (I have a reservation there this next week). I have been to Boma many times, and although the food is alright, I just don't get all the hype about it. I'm NOT a very big meat eater, but all of the meat had weird spices on it that made it sort of sweet. Also, my DBF is a meat LOVER, and didn't like the food either. We like to consider ourselves very adventurous eaters, but this was just too much for us!

My sister and her DBF went to Sanaa in March, and it was one of their favorite dinning experiences (and my sister has pretty much been to every restaurant on property, including all the signatures).

Anyway, the decision is yours to make! But if i were you, I'd go with Sanaa

My vote would go to Sanaa. I've eaten at Boma several times and although the food and atmosphere is great, Sanaa beats Boma hands down. We had an early lunch there and arrived early to have a look around. We were seated next to a window and had a fabulous view of all the animals. The food was delicious and the staff were so friendly. I will definatley go back to Sanaa!

I'd like to try the buffet at Boma first, but since you all have described the atmosphere at Sanaa now I'm very intrigued. If I make a 7:45pm ADR at Sanaa are there still going to be animals on the savannah at that time?

Most likely yes but it will depend on when you travel because it gets dark before 7:45 for parts of the year in FL and no matter how many animals are out there you won't see them.
