I currently have an ADR for dinner at Boma during my July stay. I am contemplating changing to Sanaa but not sure.

I do like Indian-style food, and being summer it would still be light when I am there. I have also never been to Sanaa.

I have done Boma breakfast and do have that booked for the final morning of my stay before I get the DCL bus to Port Canaveral, but I have never done dinner there.

I am staying at AKL, so while Boma is in the same building, as I understand it, Kidani is not a far walk from Jambo.

Thoughts?

(I have ruled out Jiko due to the limited things that are gluten-free on the menu and the fact that those slew heavily towards seafood which I do not like - other than the elk which is TOO exotic for me.)

I wouldn't call Sanaa indian food. Indian inspired yes. Stay away from the butter chicken as it's full of curry. :-)
Boma is A LOT of food. If you don't mind buffets and you can manage to get your $'s worth, Boma is probably one of if not the best buffet on property.
If you are a lighter eater and really want a window seat to see the savanna, go with Sanaa. Tell your server you are not a fan of indian spices. There are things on teh menu they can point you towards or they can request the chef tone down the spices in a particular dish.
Either place has incredible food.

We love Boma for dinner. Had the breakfast once and while it was fine, it just didn't compare to their dinner options. We found a couple of things at Sanaa (hello bread service) but that won't be an every trip reservation for us. If you haven't tried it, go ahead! It's beautiful

I DO like Indian style/inspired food and curry. :) That is why Sana’a has been on my radar.

Thanks!

(Double checked - there was not a “not” in there about Sanaa. Just an example of why I do not envy the room assigners with the requests - it is too easy to miss a “not” or put a “not” in there.)

Sanaa! The bread service is a meal. I know so many people like Boma but we went once and couldn’t wait to leave. So loud, disorganized, screaming kids, ok food with long lines to wait at the Buffet. I love spicy, Exotic foods, but there wasn’t much that I liked at Bomba. Very expensive and not worth it for us. We don’t mind paying for food we like. That’s why I love Jiko. The food is great, service good and ambiance nice.

We have both scheduled for our July trip, and we aren't even staying at AKL. :thumbsup2 Boma dinner is an every trip ADR for us, and I have been wanting to try Sanaa for a long time :goodvibes So I vote for both, even though that option wasn't presented ::yes::

We absolutely loved our meal at Sanaa - the kids still talk about it. The bread service is a must!! As much as I would like to try Boma and experience the variety, I just can't see that I would ever eat our money's worth. That just may be our family's style - we aren't big buffet people. And the experience at Sanaa is worth it. Enjoy!!

We have both booked for our next trip but I'm thinking of cancelling Boma. That experience has gone down hill for us. I agree with the previous poster of it being loud, chaotic and expensive AND the food quality didn't seem quite so great last visit. Right now I have 5 pm booked which is right when they open ( trying to dodge a bit of the chaos). We are staying at AKL which is why I booked it. Sanaa on the other hand is a must do. Such a unique experience. Good food and atmosphere.

I have to admit a guilty pleasure Zebra Domes. Any place that has all you can eat Zebra Domes is a permanent additions to our restaurant list for future trips.

I have it on good authority that being gluten-free I can still ask the chef for them (the gluten-free version) at breakfast. :)

Both are good and very different.
Sanaa is Indian inspired food. Great bread course. Lots of curry and similar flavors.
Boma is a buffet. Plenty of normal options and then many african inspired dishes. Plenty of choices for everyone. The tables in Boma are packed n closer than Sanaa, and generally noisier.

Sanaa! The bread service is excellent and so is the butter chicken! And because you are having breakfast at Boma anyway, it would be good to try someplace different.

I prefer Sanaa at lunch (the menu appeals more to me and the animals have always been very active for us at that time). Dinner at Boma is amazing! They have so much variety, and it's a good way to try a whole bunch of food you may not otherwise try.

You really need to talk to the chef then because they are as addictive as sin.

Saana for the spicy Durban shrimp or biryani. Of course the bread service as well. Now I’m hungry.
