Boma or Ohana dinner?

Really depends on my plans for the rest of the day. If it were just about the food, matmosphere and experience, I would choose Boma, unless I was guaranteed a window seat for the fireworks at Ohana.

I would review the menus with all those going. Some may prefer one type of food over another. My children were not big Boma fans when they were younger, but loved Ohana.

I haven't been to either but they are on my bucket list for sure and I've read a lot about them. Definitely check the menus. Boma has a highly rated breakfast. Their dinner is a buffet but I haven't researched it so it may be just as great. Also at AKL is the restaurant Sanaa which has a view of the animals roaming! (I think you request a table near windows at check-in.) I'm looking forward to trying Ohana dinner & it would be awesome if our dinner was during fireworks!! For me to choose, it would totally depend on the plans for the day, what park I'm in, ease of transportation and the menu! (Honestly, if it was me and I wasn't considering my family, I would totally choose the Sanaa menu!)

I would choose Boma, unless I was guaranteed a window seat for the fireworks at Ohana.

And I'm going to mention for OP's sake that a very limited number of tables at Ohana have any view of Wishes, and they cannot be guaranteed and you cannot wait for them on request. So this is really a non-factor!

Thanks everyone! Luckily we are all pretty good eaters so either menu would work- this would be for our last day where we are doing a half day at AK and then resting at the resort before dinner. We have Ohana booked now for 7:20 but I was considering Boma because of good reviews I have read. It's me, DH, DS 11 and DS 9 months. (Sorry I should have included that info initially- I was half asleep!) thank you again for the feedback and any more is definitely welcome!!!

We've been to both and prefer Boma. Honestly, the food at 'Ohana is fine, but I personally find the meat overdone for my liking. Boma is a fave, not to be missed. I love the soups (never thought I was really that much a soup person until I tried theirs), the different salads and other interesting offerings.

I recently ate at O'Hana with hesitation. The only food that was acceptable to my liking was the grilled shrimp. The bbq chicken marinate had a sour vinegar like taste. The meat...omg..omg was so salty I truly believe it was marinated in the Dead Sea + extra salt. They also served some oily chinese noodles, fried oily chinese dumpling? ...really now..polynesian dish?
It was a good thing i have my life insurance updated in case something hirrible happened while eating or tasting thise horrible food. If I were to eat there again with hesitation I better pre pay for a casket.

As for Boma....it's a secret :rolleyes1. I'm not telling.

I think Boma is better from a food quality and selection standpoint.

However, I prefer 'Ohana as an overall dining expereince. I just think it's a more fun and exciting place to eat. Along those lines, I prefer being served a meal as opposed to a buffet. Just find the overall experience to be much more relaxing.

Myself? 'Ohana, for sure!!

But if any of you are picky eaters, I'd go with Boma...much bigger selection and the food is super good there too.

I think location is important and plays into the decision. On days when we're at Animal Kingdom (as you will be, right?), we have dinner at either Boma or Sanaa. We enjoy walking the resort and seeing the beautiful lobby and the animals. I also think the food is better at Boma, and I like that there is a larger selection than what you get at Ohana.

I LOVED Boma. The variety at dinner is outstanding. We did O'Hana as well .. nothing was bad all .. we have eaten an O'Hana before, and I think it is just the consistency of the food? Boma was a great variety. But I agree with PP location is key, and if you can do both why not :)

BOMA...

We love Boma for all meals...and it's one of the only dinner buffets we do enjoy!

We tried Ohana for the first time for dinner (we have had breakfast plenty there) on Christmas Eve 2015...and it lost for us...but we had a very late ADR, waited for about an hour to be seated, they were out of bread, the wait staff was barely there, we were very tired. SO we are giving it another try with a very early ADR in 2 weeks...I so want to love it and I do love the theory of it...but Boma never feels crowded even when it is, there is a ton of food to choose from, it is always good and plentiful and we have never had a service problem...we have even had a waiter give us to go cups for drinks and food left on our table when we were leaving (I did not think any buffet did that!).

SO if I had to choose one it would be Boma at this point.

'Ohana, I did not care for Boma at all. My entire family of 7 thought Boma was just so-so but we all loved 'Ohana. And if you do have picky eaters, they will bring other things (my nephew got a burger).
