If it comes down to the food itself, Boma, without question. To us, MM is pretty awful, but then again we have a lot of really good Italian restaurants around here. Boma has a huge variety and you can easily avoid dishes with a lot of spice and still leave beyond full. There are a couple of different salads, 4 or 5 soups, the carving station (which has sauce to put on top but of course is optional) and a bunch of other dishes that are good to accompany spice but most don't have a lot of spice to them. The dessert selection has a few really tastey selections too, if you still have room for them (yes, this does include the ever popular Zebra Domes, which are OK, in our opinion, but to us doesn't deserve the hype they get).

However, do you plan on watching F! at all durring the rest of your stay or would that night be your only chance? If it's your only chance, you might get stuck eating at DHS. If you'll get to see it on another night I would do Boma. We also don't really find much value in the F! dining packages and would much rather opt for either Sci-Fi or 50's PTC if we had to eat in DHS and then just get on line for Fantasmic like everyone else.

I loved Boma - sure there were some things out that weren't for everyone, but there was enough that anyone can find something, and the ability to try so many unique and different things was great. I thought food quality was very high.

We've done MM f! package twice - NEVER again. Last year we didn't lke it, but went back because we were with 4 grandparents and wanted to make sure we got 9 people into F! Big mistake. Food is quite poor - red sauce is downright bad. I pulled 2 hairs out of a fish dinner. We've gone the last 3 years and have eaten at many places, the two meals we had at MM would definately be in our bottom 5. This year, dispite having an ADR we were seated 1 hour and 15 minutes late and the staff seemed to think nothing of it until we requested the manager before leaving.

I love Fantasmic and would hate to miss it on a trip, but killing an ADR at MM just to guarantee getting in to F! is no longer an option.

Given your situation, I would choose Mama Melrose. You will already be at DHS, and personally I find the food quite appetizing; we had a great meal there in late Aug. 2011. However, I would definitely try to fit Boma somewhere in your schedule during your trip, since you are staying at Kidani. The buffet is excellent and offers some unique, palate friendly dishes.

First of all. How did you get the fantasmic MM ressie! I have been trying since 180 days out for March. Still no luck. Second. As hard as I am trying...I am not that fond of MM food. BUT we want to see fantasmic and we like the food better than H+V. BD is too expensive and I am too picky for their food. Boma is great and I found plenty to eat (being as picky as I am)!

Thanks everyone for your responses and advice. I have to take a decision soon! and I think I will choose Mama Melrose with the Fantasmic Package.. My daughter loves the show and this will be a very special vacation, since DH just cameback from deployment. And this will be our last day at the parks, so I would like to have a great ending to our vacation!!

"Ro z: I just found this ressie a month ago, and I guess I had some pixie dust coming my way!! Just never give up! It can happen to you too!! :wizard:
Again thanks everyone for your sugggestions and feedback!..

Actually Mama Melrose is one of our new favorites. We ate there for the first time in Dec. 2009 and really enjoyed it. We just ate there again in June of 2011 and had another excellent meal. That's saying quite a bit as my FIL is Italian...first generation born in the US! My MIL loved it so much that she INSISTS for our trip next November that we make another ressie there! I guess everybody has different experiences! :rotfl: Hopefully yours will be more like ours! :thumbsup2

I love BOMA and have it inserted in my next vacation....MM I can do without... ate there a few years ago and have no desire to go back....but I know that getting to Fantasmic is worth it...so an ok meal followed by the show without the trouble of going back to your hotel is a good thing....

We ate at MM just last week with a Fantasmic Package. We had a great meal. I had the grilled chicken flatbread - wonderful! They made a plain cheese flatbread for my daughter (age 19) and she loved it. The Caesar salad was good and the desserts were great - we had the cheesecake and the pound cake.

We are Italian and tried MM a few years ago. It really wasn't that bad at all and we agreed that we'd go back again if we were getting another F! package. We also love the food at Boma, but we're not big buffet fans. It usually quite crowded and busy and getting up and down to go to the buffet doesn't make for a relaxing dinner. At breakfast this doesn't seem to bother us as much and we do love Boma's breakfast.
