Which one do you prefer and why? What´s the atmosphere like? DH and I have tried neither one and never been to these resorts either. It will be us (DH and I) and our 4 kids (3,6,12 and 14) +baby. We´re quite adventurous eater if that makes a difference.

TIA :thumbsup2

Since your adventurous eaters, I would say Boma's..The food there is very interesting....different spices, and preperation..We have ate at both, and would prefer Kona's over Boma though....We are not adventurous eaters..

Two totally different rest. Where ever you decide...ENJOY

I love them both; I have them both reserved for my next trip (FD in Sept. :cool1: :cool1: ) but Boma gets the slight edge...the lovely smoky spicy scent when you enter the lodge...the amazing soups, the carved meats with the amazing sauces, delicious wines. I have always received excellent service.
But...Kona and the sticky wings, the Lapu-lapu, the Poly atmosphere...tough choice!

Thanks guys! Maybe we should give both a try ;)

I'd suggest doing both if you can, as they're both very good :goodvibes. If we had to pick only one, it would be Kona; but Boma is a neat place with lots of variety for every taste :thumbsup2.

I'd do Kona, just because I would rather not do a buffet with 5 kids for my birthday. I would think a plated meal would be more relaxing. Both Kona and Boma are great places though whatever you decide.

I love Kona - but BOMA gets the edge here. When I walk into BOMA, I never feel like I'm walking into a buffet. The cms have always made it such a special experience from the moment they say hello. There is a great selection of foods and a lot of fruit and grilled meats that my DD a picky eater loved. And the desserts are absolutely wonderful!

For a birthday, I think BOMA would add a touch of elegance over Kona.

I'd say Boma. The food there is very good, and the lodge is ice to walk around before/after. I've had 2 disappointing meals at Kona and probably won't be back, but I've never had a bad meal at Boma.

Gotta go with BOMA. I enjoy both, but BOMA's a whole different level than Kona. Do DH's b-day dinner at BOMA and try to sneak in a b-fast at Kona, that way you can still enjoy the tonga toast/macadamia nut pancakes/fresh coffee, but still be able to enjoy the variety of delicious soups & all of the foodie options that BOMA has to offer....we just took the DDs there for a b-day this past weekend and it was a big hit.

Boma it is :) I´ve already put it into my ADR plan.
