Right now i have both Boma and Kona booked. We are on the FDDP. I am not sure which one to cancel. We went to Kona last year for breakfast and loved it!! We also really want to see AKL and try zebra domes. But the food at Boma seems a little weird to my kids. So we could go Mara instead for a CS. So what do you think i should do??

TIA!!!!!

WAAAY back in 2005, we stayed at AKL. I don't know if you are staying there, but the Mara is just so/so. Definitly not worth a trip if you are not already at AKL. We had 3 very little kids when we were there last, and they really liked Boma. There is a whole kid section with "normal" kid food.
Have fun!

I know many kids that love boma, it has food there for everyone, at any time.
Some adult type foods that kids may not like and a lot of the normal type foods that everyone likes. I find it hard to imagine anyone disliking a place that has it all?

I'd say Boma 100%. Its got awesome food on both ends of the spectrum. Its got americanized food like mac-n-cheese, roast beef, chicken, ect. To my personal favorite Fu-Fu (sounds dumb I know lol) which is white potatoes, yams and african spices mixed together into a creamy, delicious side. I could eat a whole plate of that stuff alone lol.
So theres cool stuff for you adults to try and the kids can do their norms if they're not feeling adventurous that evening. ;)

It's a tough choice since I think both are great, but since you've already been to Kona, I say go to Boma this time and get the added experience of AKL.

Don't go to Mara. There is very little to pick from. It's not a real "Food Court". Just one board to order from.

If you want to choose between the restaurants, I liked Boma the best. The food court I liked was Port Orleans Riverside and French Quarter. They had alot to pick from.

Both are great. I didn't even bother to vote since I couldn't decide. I would pick based on if you want to do a buffet. With kids, buffets can be hard. I feel like I spend most of my meal walking to and from the buffet/table and waiting in line for food. Ordering off a menu makes for a more relaxed meal for us. That being said though, we eat at Boma every trip because the food is so good.

That's a tough choice being both are great places :rolleyes1. Kona has awesome prime rib and filet :goodvibes. The buffet at Boma is also very good. There is enough variety for everyone. They have a kids section with chicken fingers, mac & cheese, french fries, etc., so I don't think your kids will have any trouble finding things they like ;). If you've had Kona for breakfast, maybe go with Boma for something different :confused3. Either way I think you'll have a great meal :).

Speaking of Boma..

Do they have a normal Kids buffet?

chicken Nuggets? Mac and cheese type stuff?

Any details..

We have dinner there for our next trip, and I was hoping for chicken nuggets for the kids..

Don't eat at Mara, it's definately not one of the better CS restaurants.

Personally, we didn't care for Boma. I like to try new things and maybe I had my expectations too high when we went, but neither of us cared for it at all (and the service was terrible).

Although I receieve a well-done steak at Kona, ordered med-rare (didn't send it back because it was so busy that night and DD would've been done eating by the time my steak returned), I'm returning to Kona this year to give it another try but won't even consider Boma again. Didn't understand what I was eating and although posts say there are CM's standing around to explain items, that wasn't the case for us (went during free dining in 06).

Personally, we may visit AKL this year on our visit but will not be dining there. JMO.

I have been to both for dinner, and like a lot of the other posters, it is tough for me to decide. I ultimately voted Boma because I always feel like travelling to the AKL is a little adventure in and of itself, and a buffet dinner will allow you to try a bunch of different things. They have a kids section so the kids should be fine. Kona is an awesome dinner - maybe find a way to fit Kona in as a lunch one day when you are at MK!!

We would select Kona over Boma. Prefer the menu, restaurant format (order your meal), the setting (less noise), location (close to MK, accomodations, monorail) and selection of desserts.

Hmmm they both sound sooo good!! I want to go to both!!! I'm gonna try and change my schedule!! But I still want to hear every ones thought!!!

Thanks every for answering!!

We love both :lovestruc But if I had to choose one, I would most certainly hands down choose Boma :thumbsup2 We love the food and the atmosphere. It should not be missed.
