Hi,
We love Boma but have never done Jiko and were considering it for this trip. Is it much different than Boma? I know one's a buffet and the other a sit down but should we spend the extra money on Boma or are the menu items similar? If you have tried both, which do you prefer? thanks, nancy

I certainly don't think you will be spending "extra" money at Boma...Jiko is far more expensive. They don't have exactly the same food. Jiko is more formal...Boma more casual. Boma is very good for a buffett but it is just that, a buffet...Jiko is excellent and in my opinion one of the better resturants on property. I think a lot depends on you...do you enjoy dining at more upscale resturants or do you prefer amore casual atmosphere...do you have children? If so, how old are they and will they sit thru a dinner at that type of resturant? Both are good and both appeal to me for different reasons and different it depends upon my mood.....check out the menus on www.wdwig.com to see if Jiko appeals to you...I think it is fabulous!

Boma and Jiko are both favorites of ours.

Jiko is very different from Boma.

Boma is warm (brown earthtones), inviting, relaxed and "more" family oriented.

Jiko is upscale, and more pricey. The service is outstanding. IMHO definetly worth the splurge.

Jiko is wonderful. We love Boma, and Jiko was a totally different experience. Jiko is definitley more upscale and pricier, but well worth it!!
The food is outstanding, and so is the service. This is one of my and DH's favorites along with Boma!

Boma and Jiko are very different experiences. We love them both.

Jiko is laid back, relaxed, no rushing..the meal will take around two hours. Food is delicious, great wine selection, great little bar area for waiting before your dinner.

Boma, a buffet as you know.

Choose by the experience you want to have and the time you have available for dinner.

Either way, they are both great. The food items are not the same.

Thanks everyone. We (my sis and I, no kids) are definitely going to try Jiko this time. If it's half as good as Boma then we'll be happy. Any entree suggestions? The only thing I really don't like is lamb or veal. Willing to try almost anything else. I'm so excited.- thanks, Nancy

Try Jiko! It'll be more expensive but it's worth it.

I am not much of a beef eater and I always get fish at Jiko. Haven't had a lousy fish yet.

try the chocolate candies if they're on the menu! they come with an orange sauce and are very unusual.

For my birthday this year we were at WDW, and I could have chosen to eat anywhere, including private dining aboard the Grand One, and I chose Jiko! So I guess that shows you how much I love that restaurant :) LOL!

At any rate, I always have the same thing, the Filet. It's incredibly good, always cooked just right. The monkfish is also very good.
