Planning our 1st trip to WDW and trying to decide on TS restaurants. Which one would be your chocie Boma or Chefs de France? -Thanks

Very touch choice imo, i think boma might edge it but its really close

We just got back about 2 1/2 weeks ago and I ate at both. It took us over an hour to get out to Boma and it really wasn't worth the annoying trip to get there. I was not impressed with the food or the staff. I really enjoyed my 1st time at Chefs and now it is put on our list of must do's!

Chefs De France! Boma is a buffet and for a more exotic adventurous palate...not my thing, haha
Chefs De France I ate at once, I had a salmon dish that was pretty good. It wasnt anything that knocked my socks off, but I would recommend to eat there atleast once! Pretty setting and good drinks too!

We enjoy Chefs on occasion but only for lunch; our 3 dinners here have been uninspired compared to the lunches we have enjoyed.

Boma is not as good as it used to be but I still think it's worth at least one try for both breakfast and dinner.

Now I am just more confused then ever. I don't mind a buffet if the food is awesome! I can't really tell what they have at Boma from their menu. So confused now! :confused3

We have eaten at Boma (for dinner) 3 times now and Chefs only once. We ate at both restaurants 2 weeks ago. IMO, Chefs is very nice but I could get anything off their menu at any nice restaurant around where we live. Boma, on the other hand, is very unique and not something you come across every day. Boma is the all time favorite with our family, including my kids who are 9 & 12. And the 9 year old is a picky eater! Please give Boma a try! :thumbsup2

Want to know how much I love Boma? I told my husband that I would fly to Orlando just to eat at Boma for the night! It would be totally worth it!

I think the food is better at Boma, but it is a personal preference, the cusine is COMPLETELY different.

Chef's is more convienent and the atmosphere is nicer.

I've had great meals at both, you can't go wrong with either.

Two completely different restaurants....I absolutely LOVE Boma and is a must do on every trip. More "exotic" food selections, but I'm a very picky eater and have always found several things I enjoy. Since its a buffet you're able to try a little bit of something more interesting or different and see if you enjoy it.

I went to Chefs de France for lunch and absolutely loved the food. If I had to pick just one I would go for Boma, but recommend trying to give Chefs de France a chance for lunch one day if you can. Prices are slightly cheaper and if you go early enough the restaurant isn't too crowded.

There is no "awesome" food at WDW. It's mediocre at best...

Personally, I'd choose Chefs. I'm not a huge fan of African cuisine, and although Boma has takes a more "Americanized" spin on it, French would still be my first choice.

If you decide on Chefs, definitely take the time to check out the France pavilion. :thumbsup2

BOMA.... It's my favorite WDW restaurant. PERIOD.

BOMA! Although, I have to say that they ARE very different places. But if there was a mountaintop from which I could scream, I would let everyone know that I thought my most recent meal at Chef's was terrible. I actually sent my entree back...I NEVER DO THAT IN RESTAURANTS! This was especially dissapointing, as I had such fond memories of Chefs from when I was a kid. Silly me, not to think the place had changed in twenty years! :rotfl:

We really like Boma! It is one of our favorite restaurants anywhere! As PP said, Chefs was fine, but nothing outstanding, and the food is very similar to that available in many restaurants, in many cities. Boma is unique, tasty, and if for some reason you don't enjoy the African-inspired dishes, there are plenty of other, more "neutral" dishes from which to choose. I would book Boma (and it's NOT hard to get to... just take an AKL bus!)

Definitely Boma! We have eaten there on several occasions and the variety is nice, delicious and different, although there are still dishes that most anyone would enjoy. Our experiences at Chefs were horrible-- and on two visits there. The food only mediocre and the service horribly slow, as well as encountering really rude waiters. Never again Chefs for us! I won't pay to get insulted.

We tried Chefs for the first time in Feb. It was good and Remy was cute, but it isn't on my must-go list. (Although I still think about the creme brulee!!!)

IMHO, Boma's for dinner is the best buffet at WDW. The food is unique, but there is absolutely something for just about everyone. If you make the trip to AKL, stick around and check out the savannas and the resort lobby and shop-it is worth the trip! (We are going to try Boma's for breakfast next with a dinner at Sanna...)

I love Boma and think Chefs is just okay. We go to Boma on our AK day so it is quite close. Now you do have to be patient getting back home.

Have fun!
