Two boys ages 12 and 13 will be with us. Which would you do? Boma or Cape May?

My son is 15 now but at age 12 he started requesting Boma for every trip. He is spending one night with us on a house hunting trip this summer and I told him I would get dinner ADRs anywhere he wanted and he immediately said "BOMA!"

Location, location, location.....

AKLodge is spectacular, but may not be worth the journey if using Disney transportation. Boma is very good, but not worth a hassle getting to/from resort-to-resort.

Cape May allows for a stroll along Boardwalk and/or into either Hollywood Studios or Epcot too.....which makes using Disney transportation back to your resort even easier.

If you are driving yourselves - AKLodge is spectacular and worth the trip to subsequently enjoy Boma. Start during daylight hours to enjoy the animals.

Boma. I really like both, but if I had to pick one, I'd go to Boma. It's more unique, while Cape May is more "normal" food.

Boma! zebra domes! varied menu that appeals to all types of eaters.
Someone mentioned crab legs earlier but they are quite a bit slow on the refill these days.
And....zebra domes!

Depends on the kids tastes. When I was that age, I would say Cape May, but I loved seafood. Still do. IF they are ok with African spices, then Boma is a very good restaurant as well but is very different than Cape May. Really difficult to compare the two.

Cape May is really good...we are crab leg eaters though. They also have a great selection. I can't speak for Boma because we haven't' been there. We are hoping to stay there if not this Sept definitely next but I'm not sure we'd try it..lol . My kids although older are very plain eaters just an fyi. Maybe for dessert bc I hear great things about the zebra domes!

Wasn't crazy about Cape May when we ate there. Trying Boma for first time this trip. Like that so many people have positive things to say.

With teens, I would forego recommendations and really look at the menu's. Teens seem to go between eating everything and eating tons but with pickiness thrown in.

If you are big on seafood then I would pick Cape May. The mussels were really tasty as were the clams.

Boma is not as good as it was years ago. They offer fewer choices of meats and give you mostly salad-type dishes. The zebra domes were warm mush when we ate there and seem to be made with a different chocolate. The soups were still pretty good and that's what I ended up eating for dinner.

It breaks my heart because we ate here every year since it opened and I am sad that it has gone down the tubes.

Both restaurants are a pain in the butt to get to. So that shouldnt sway your decision. Personally i'd go for Boma. More variety of food, plus the place is gorgeous. Would be awesome to check out the animals in the night vision goggles.

Man, tough choice. My kids eat their weight in the seafood at Cape May, and look forward to it each year (plus, the "kids section" has some tasty stuff, too..).

But we all love Boma.

I guess it is what you enjoy more - seafood or not-seafood...
