We are heading to WDW the first week of February and we have discovered that we have an open night for a PS!!!

So help us decide Boma or California Grill!!!

Thanks for the help!

I have not been to Boma, yet, but I have been to the California Grill. They are different so it depends on what you want. Boma is a buffet and the California Grill is a sit-down restaurant with a "creative" (to say the least) menu.

I dined there only once and had the best service and view, but the food for me only was not that great. I had the young chocken with a citrus reduction and it was just too different for me. The chicken flatbread was flippin' great and my mother's pork was pretty good too.

I would not go back anytime soon, but I think this was a odd meal for me only. Earlier in the day I had a hugh hot dog at Casey Corner and I think I lost my appetite at dinner. Either one is worth a try, I will be trying Boma for the first time in a couple weeks. Have fun

We ate at both 2 weeks ago. They are both good but would be hard to compare to each other because of their unique differences in ambience and food fare. I think it depends on what type experience you are looking for. The CG has one of the most spectacular views around, and if you plan it right you can make PS around "Wishes," which is what I did. I would compare it towards a more upscale restaurant, but not stuffy. If you want a place to enjoy a romantic dinner, this would be it. Wonderful food, but more expensive, with exquisite view. Boma is a buffet that offers foods with an African flare, although they had a wonderful standing prime rib the night they were there. We thoroughly enjoyed it. All you can eat for a set price. Unique salads and side dishes. Themed interior matching the rest of AKL. Persons who greeted us (in full costume) were later performing with drums and dancing...very entertaining. You wander, at will, from station to station gathering food, so you will be up and about, helping yourselves throughout the evening. If I had to make a choice between the two, however, it would have to be CG. Talk about magic. Wonderful food and service with the castle full view our first night there. And, it really was a treat feeling pampered after walking around the park all day..... Can't wait to go back. Good luck with your decision, hope this helps.

Tough one---

Neither Boma nor California Grill has ever disappointed me. I think it's all about the experience you want. Exotic, wonderful food and lots of it- pick Boma. Fantastic fine dining and service- California Grill. Theya re both really "must dos" on my list, so it's really tough to say one way or the other.

If you have any vegitarians or special diets in the party- pick Cal Grill- nothing but raves for the veggie food there. Very accomidating chefs.

California Grill hands down!

hmm, i wouldn't put california grill in the same class as boma. california grill is more comparable to jiko. have you considered jiko?

if you like a view, choose california grill. if you like animals and would like to experience the animal kingdom lodge (which is amazing) and some unique-but-not-too-challenging foods, choose boma or jiko.

Thanks for the great responses!!

We decided on California Grill and have PS for 7:10 pm.
