Boma for Breakfast?

We've never done an ADR for breakfast, so I started looking around. It's in November, so of course all the good stuff is taken, which is totally expected. However, Boma was available on our departure day. It looks intriguing. I went ahead and booked it to snag it, but I wanted to get some reassurance here on if it's a good choice. I figure a buffet is a good idea for a travel day.

Secondly, our ADR is at 8:45am. Our flight is at 4:00pm, so Magical Express should get us around 1:00pm, giving us enough time, right? I want to account for travel time back from AKL from CBR, packing of the last minute stuff, etc.

Thanks in advance for your thoughts!

Not sure if the title of this thread is a typo or a joke that I don't get?

Since she's asking about BomA in the text, it's a safe bet it's a typo.

Boma is a good breakfast. As long as you have accounted for your travel and packing time, it shouldn't be a problem. You should probably store your bags with bell services before you leave for breakfast if you are planning to use only Disney transportation because it is not likely you'd make it back in time for the 11am checkout. If you are driving, or using a taxi, you will probably have time.

Oh, true! Good thought.

Boma is a fantastic breakfast. Since its a buffet without characters, so the time for your meal is what you want it to be. Most people go earlier so they can get to the parks. 8:45 is a good time as the rush is mostly gone. I went on a Monday at 9 and had the place practically to ourselves. It was DELICIOUS! I stayed at AKL years and years ago and avoided this place thinking it was similar to Tusker House, which I am not a fan of. Tried it on our last vacation and regretted never going before! You will love it!

We love Boma for breakfast! If you have time before or after the meal you can walk around the resort and visit the savannahs.

I rarely suggest people travel internally at Disney for food, but this seems like a good use of time.

Yes, the buffet is unique enough that your use of travel time makes sense to me.

You can fix your Thread title. Go up to your Title then look over to the right and click on "thread tools", then click "edit title". And Boma for breakfast is good, but dinner is excellent.

Boma is a must for us on every trip. Their breakfast and dinner are both amazing and so is the atmosphere of the entire AK Lodge. You will love it! :thumbsup2

We just had Boma breakfast yesterday (Saturday) and really enjoyed it. Lots of good choices, both traditional breakfast foods and more adventurous, African inspired flavors too. You won't have any trouble finding something good to eat!

We think Boma has super yummy breakfast options. And we usually go there the morning of check out too. Love the french toast bread pudding. And the grilled asparagus and tomatoes. And the juice. And there are plenty of standard things too. Oh now I'm feeling hungry lol.

Boma is far from the leftover dregs. it is just easier to book because it's at a resort not parks and no characters. But the food/experience is awesome. I am doing it on my last day too because BOMA.

But if check out is at 11 I might actually make a later breakfast ADR, get all of my luggage done and not be rushed, drop it off with Disney and then enjoy a leisurely breakfast and whatever else you want to do before catching your 4pm ME. I would not do an early breakfast with the idea of doing last minute packing before checkout. that seems unnecessarily rushed to me.

I have always heard and personally always felt that Boma is one of the best breakfasts in WDW! Such a huge variety of different dishes, great setting and wonderful servers! And the food is done very well. It is always our last breakfast before heading home. Their bacon is to die for. Enjoy it!

Boma is great, and it's worth walking around AKL, if you have never stayed there. I live in a large city with lots of restaurant choices. Boma and Jiko are one of few restaurants on Disney property where I go to get unique cuisine. If you are less adventurous, then Boma breakfast is probably a good option, because you can get a more traditional American breakfast and still try some unique African and Indian cuisine.

Oh my goodness... for some reason I stopped getting updates that people were commenting. Thanks for the vote of confidence! Boma breakfast it is!
