Boma Food Details Please

We jusy booked Boma for dinner and was wondering how different the food is there. I myself am not picky but husband and children are so I am wondering if they will really be able to find something there for them. Is there a meat carving station and if so is it really spicy or different? Any details would be appreciated. I am excited to try something new but am concerned that we will levae with three hungry people!! Maybe this is obvious but just wondering how close it is to Animal Kingdom?

DH had the same concerns when we ate there in December. He found they had sliced prime rib, rotisserie chicken, and mashed potatoes that he went back for time and again. He likes NOTHING spicy and it wound up being one of his most favorite meals on our trip.

As for DS who was 3 at the time, he was happy with stuff from the kids section. They had chicken fingers and pasta/sauce if I remember correctly. It broke my heart to have to pay for him since he eats net to nothing but we were following the rules......

And if they don't fill up on that, then there is the dessert table. You can bet they WILL fill up on those.........

AKL is not that close to AKV. A short bus ride, but not within walking distance. Allow yourself enough time in case the AKL bus is running late.....

Nothing too different: the salmon is nut crusted, the chicken is called Durban chicken, but is just chicken, the ribs are a bit different (not to my liking), fufu is mashed sweet and white potatos (yum!,) the salads are different combinations than we usually see, but not very different. Things tend to have sweeter, more aromatic spices (like cinnamon) added, but it's not really exotic or African.....Many of the crops grown there don't thrive here in the US. We were there 2 weeks ago.

Make sure to go see the animals on the savannah after dinner...it's a nice way to let your dinner settle!
