Boma dinner - did your kiddos enjoy it?

My son enjoyed it when he was 4 and we are going back again on our next visit (this month). I'm a little concerned about my MIL who is definitely not an adventerous eater - but that is the nice thing about going to this buffet. She will probably try a few things and eat the "kids stuff" if she doesn't find anything else. An no matter what, I know she will love many of the deserts.

We went last year. My DH loved it...I thought it was good...my girls who were 16 & 12 at the time, did not like it. One is a picky eater, the other is not. They both ended up eating from the kids side of the buffet but even then complained that the food tasted funny. Glad we tried it once but we won't be going back.

Our (almost 3 at the time) son seemed to like the food there, but that's true just about anywhere.

If you have kids that dont like certain foods, you'll still probably be okay because there are a number of different options to try and they'll probably be able to find some things they like. If you have kids that aren't willing to try something new, you may still be okay as long as they like the food at the kiddie station.

My girls are 7 and 4. Both enjoyed it. They both liked the meat choices and the little one loved the rice that they had. The older one loved the fruit and desserts. They tried some different African things and the only thing that didn't appeal was couscous, which they love, but it had fruit in it which didn't appeal to them.

Awesome!! Thank you for the many responses. I think we are going to give it a try!! :) YUM!!!

I was too lazy to read all of the responses, but I wanted to make sure you were aware of a little known activity you can take advantage of...

At dusk if you go outside to the Savannah viewing area there are night vision goggles available for use. It is a rare treat for all ages!
PS... My kids love going to BOMA they have been there as young as 9 and my oldest was 13 this summer when we went.

Nice!!! I did not know this! Thank you!! :goodvibes

My kids (9, 11) LOVE Boma for dinner! We usually try to book it for our last night so it kind of caps off our trip to WDW. The kids would be so bummed if we skipped Boma.

You could work on introducing them to new foods at home before you go. When we went DNieces loved it. Me not so much because I have allergies and lots of items were off limits so I would have rather gone somewhere that I could have had a meal I could enjoy vs being told I couldn't try most things lol. My nieces are adventurous eaters and willing to try stuff they know that if they don't like it no one is going to force them to eat it but they will atleast give it a try.

My kids love Boma but then they are definitely adventurous when it comes to food. From eating nothing but macaroni when they were 3 or 4 there is pretty well nothing they won't eat now. They key is to introduce them to as wide a variety of food as possible. Boma is a step in the right direction.

Boma was not a favorite of ours for dinner but breakfast is awesome. The kids selections the night we were there seemed very limited. There was Mac and cheese, mashed potatoes and chicken legs. Thats it. Needless to say my DD 10 who is fussy ate a lot of desserts. My husband did not really care for it either.

Just back and did Boma on Saturday last weekend. The kids loved it. There are lots of "staple" items for picky eaters and it's also a great place to try new things without risk since it's a buffet. They have an awesome dessert selection too, which is always a hit with my group! :lmao:

My kids are kind of picky eaters and they absolutely love Boma. It's always one of their picks of places to eat at. And they don't just stick to the section of traditional kids items either.
We were at Disney in January for my son's birthday and that is where he picked for his birthday dinner.

My son has been a fan of Boma's since he could chew! He has always eaten what we eat, there is no distinction in our house between kids food and adult food, it's food. We travel with our best friends who have a pickky eater (nothing green in his diet other than green gummy bears) and he loves Boma as well. Even with all of the more exciting choices, there are also the staples of chicken nugget, pasta and pizza!

My son always enjoyed picking out a bit of this and a bit of that, maybe picky eaters get an opportunity to try something new on their own because they picked it out!

Wow, thanks for the input! We need something new so I think we're going to give Boma dinner a try. :) Yay! I get to make ADRs next week!
