Boma and Magical Express?

We are staying at the AKL this december and have a 7.30am reservation for Boma on our check-out day. Our flight departs at 11.00am from MCO, and we are using Magical Express. We were told the bus would pick us up at the hotel three hours before our flight.

Would it be possible to have the breakfast and also be on time for the magical express? We were thinking of checking in 15 minutes early and paying from the moment we were seated to make things faster.

Thanks for the help!

Stayed at AKL and done breakfast at Boma's a number of times. Based on experience you can check in early and might get seated faster. But it will be iffy to get done fast it takes time to go through the buffet line. You would be far better to go to Mara

Is it possible? Yes. Is it ideal? No. Boma doesn't open until 7:30, so showing up any earlier probably won't help you much. You are talking about giving yourself 30 mins tops from the time you sit to the time ME picks you up. That isn't really a whole lot of time for a buffet. Not to mention, if you miss your ME bus, chances are you won't be able to get on another ME bus, which means getting to the airport is on you.

You are better off doing Boma on another day and heading to the Mara on your departure morning. Rushing through a buffet is not the best way to end your trip.

If your ME pickup time is 8, you will need to be there before that to get your things and be ready to board. The bus may leave at 8:00, and if you are not there, it is up to you to get a ride back to the airport at your expense.

It is not doable don't even chance it, your pickup time will be anywhere from 0745-0815 and you are asked to be at the Magical Express bus stop 15 minutes prior to your scheduled pick up time. Figure you are seated at 0735 then you have to get through the buffet line then sit down and inhale your food, I also don't think you can pay at the beginning since your server will have to put it in the computer and print out a check and you will not be the only people dining at that time. Do you really want to spend all that money to inhale your food ?

I agree with Tozzie. I do not think it is doable. You should be at the ME stop with all your carry ons by 7:45

I'm pretty sure you won't be able to do Boma on your departure day. Magical Express will want to pick you up at 8am and they ask that you gather your things and be waiting for them 15 minutes before your assigned time (so likely 7:45am). Morning departures are I'm sure a very busy time for them so I doubt you'll get lucky and get assigned a 9am slot or something. I also wouldn't want to do a buffet with only 30 minutes. If you have to wait in a buffet line for anything, your whole schedule would be thrown off and you'd likely only get to make one trip to the buffet. I agree that The Mara would be a much better alternative -- their bounty platters are really good and they also have daily specials such as breakfast pizza/flatbread (also good) and one morning we saw waffles with cinnamon apples and caramel sauce! :)

Your assigned pick up time could be as early as 7:45 and you need to be at the platform, completely ready to go, 15 minutes before your pick up time.

It is absolutely not possible.

Unfortunately, it won't work. But I would suggest one of two options:

1) If Boma is a must, see about another day
2) If Boma is a must and another day is not an option - how about paying for a taxi to take you to the airport? Yes it will cost you but trying to rush through an expensive buffet isn't exactly the best use of money or dining plan credit (even if on free dining - you still have the tip) - and a taxi would be your best option over an alternative ride share company as they usually have pretty early pick-up times as well.

If you take a taxi (about $50) or hire a private car service to take you to the airport you won't need to leave until about 9 am which would give you enough time to eat breakfast.

Yeah, I thought so, I'll go to the Mara instead and maybe do Boma some other day. Thanks everyone!

.
1) BOMA is far too busy at that time of day to allow an early check-in.
2) DO NOT RISK MISSING THE BUS.
3) Skip Boma, and be at the bus stop by 7:45am.
4) Either,
. . . eat at Mara
. . . eat breakfast at Boma on another day

As a person who HAS missed the DME bus and had to pay for a cab (this was back in the very early days of DME, so there wasn't another bus for hours), I agree with TheRustyScupper. I vote for his option #3-to me, Boma has the best breakfast at WDW.

We started planning flights later and later due to this. We spend our departure day to a half pool day and plan the flight for 3 pm. Gives us plenty of time for breakfast and some pool time.
