Whip gets Ridge and Taylor together!
Whip sets up Ridge and Taylor this weekjust for a chat, thanks to Thomas' scandalous showstopper. "It was just one of those moments where you have great advice for somebody and you blurt it out!" sighs Rick Hearst of Whip's role in Thomas' stunt. "Because you think, 'That's what I would do!' He doesn't really think anything of it until he sees Taylor's reaction to the whole deal, and then he realizes, 'Well, that wasn't such a good move.' But I don't think it's necessarily something that he feels was his responsibility. He's just sorry that it turned out this way."
To that end, he actually facilitates a meeting between Taylor and Ridge to talk things out. "Yeah. Two things come to mind: Is he a schmuck or smart, you know?" chuckles Hearst. "And when I first read it in the script, I was kind of like, 'Really?' But it calls to mind where he feels the relationship is. As far as he's concerned, she's No. 1 in his eyes and he's No. 1 in hers. So, the fact is, it's a very progressive way of looking at the problem. He realizes that Ridge and Taylor have a relationship, and that this has to do with their son and how it affects Ridge's marriageit really doesn't affect Whip and Taylor's marriage per se. So, he wants to help his wife. He wants to give her clarity because [the issue of Thomas and Brooke] consumes her."
But what if she's consumed by Ridge again? I don't know if it's wise," admits Hearst with a laugh. "It depends on where they're having the conversation!"
