Mother's Day For B&B's Brooke

"Ever since we found out about the egg switch, we've been wondering who is the biological mother of Taylor's baby," smiles Bradley Bell. "This week we find out for certain."

The drama kicks off when Taylor goes into labor at her own baby shower. "It happens just after Brooke wishes her well," chuckles Hunter Tylo. "Usually Taylor gets a migraine when Brooke says something, but this time her water breaks."

There's cause for concern because the due date is three weeks away, so Taylor's rushed to the hospital. There, with Nick present, she delivers a boy. "Taylor and Nick are thrilled," says Tylo. "But they only have about five seconds of, 'Yay! It's a boy!' because the doctor checks him out and it's, 'Oh, he's sick.'"

The baby is diagnosed with Severe Combined Immunodeficiency and needs a bone marrow transplant immediately. "Nick volunteers right away, but he's not a match," says Bell. "Their only chance now is with the biological mother."

Bridget stealthily obtains a sample of the infant's blood. "She runs a test and finds out Brooke is the mother," confirms Bell. "So now there's irrefutable proof. She tells Nick the results, but he doesn't have a chance to really process everything. He just wants to save his son."

Bridget calls Brooke and asks her to come to the hospital right away. Meanwhile, Brooke is informed the donor has been contacted. "She's going crazy with worry," notes Tylo. "Now that the donor has been located, she's praying everything will work out."

Brooke shows up at the hospital and Bridget explains the medical plight of Baby Boy Marone. "Brooke is upset for them, but asks what this has to do with her," sets up Bell. "That's when she's told that she was the donor of the egg that resulted in Taylor and Nick's baby."

Brooke reels from the revelation, but time is of the essence once she's found to be an exact match. She quickly agrees to donate her bone marrow and undergoes the procedure. Nick stays by her side, even in the recovery room.

"That's when Taylor wheels herself in," sighs Tylo. "There's a curtain up so she can't see anyone. She then calls out Nick's name and asks him to hehelp her find the donor she can personally thank her."

If you believe in this stuff — and I do — the late Darlene Conley will come through in a psychic reading on WE's John Edward Cross Country. It happens Oct. 27 when Edward conducts a session with Ronn Moss, Conley's longtime costar on CBS' The Bold and the Beautiful (he plays Ridge; she was the flamboyant Sally). The actress, who died of cancer last January, was close pals with Moss and, in the episode, he talks about getting the call that she was near death and praying she'd wait until he could see her one last time. "And she did," Moss tells Edward. "I walked in and about four minutes later, after I was with her alone, she died in my arms. I felt her pass through me. It was an amazing feeling."

A curious note: In tribute to Conley, B&B has kept Sally alive off screen but, in the reading with Edward, Conley claims that'll change and lead to a great story line. A B&B rep tells me Sally will be seen Nov. 1 in flashbacks that coincide with a nifty plot twist, but says there are so far no plans to recast or kill the character. — Reporting by Michael Logan

How horrible. That happened to a local man a few months ago. He had a severe seizure disorder, but had been ok for several months. His wife went to bed, and he went to put some things away in the poolhouse. The next morning she got up and all the lights were still on. She found him in the pool. She is my nurse practitioner, and I've heard she is having a hard time dealing with the guilt of going to bed at about the same time it happened. So sad.

There was an article about the whole baby thing and it said that there MAY be another twist. They baby MAY be Bridget's. Apparently, after she had the miscarriage, she "stashed" some eggs away. Mind you, at the time her last name was Marone. :

I'm still wondering how Hunter Tylo's real life tragedy is going to affect this storyline. She just lost her own baby boy (no matter how old he was), this would have to be an impossible storyline for her.
