Has anybody tried these?

Have been meaning to do it for a while now.

Yes - we've done them on both our previous trips - and will probably go again on the next trip - if we have time.

They have 2 sites. I believe (although I may be wrong) that the East Lake Fish Camp one is supposed to be the better one - that's the one we've used.

My tips are:

Avoid weekend - as there are lots of people out on their boats then and they disturb the wildlife

Go on the first ride of the day (if poss) - then the wildlife may not have been scared off

Wear sunscreen (lots) - you can easily get burnt

Try the restaurant for breakfast - nice egg&bacon sandwiches - v cheap - and quite an interesting experience - lots of characters about (and I don't mean Disney ones!)

A big thumbs up from me - we had a fantastic morning at the east lake fish camp and the airboat ride is a real experience.

As Julie says - for the best chance of catching sight of aligators make sure you go early morning for the first boat of the day - the gators do not like the mid-day heat and will head deep into the marsh for shade !

We r planning on a boggy creek airboat trip too, not quite sure which one to try yet but im very excited!

DH husband really wants to do this but i'm not so keen Is it a half day thing

The actual ride is something like an hour (I went a few years aqgo and can't remember!) with the travelling it can easily be done in half a day.

As for the characters Julie mentions,think Deliverance !!

It's great fun and nice to be away from the theme parks

Kazzie - I think the day rides are 1/2 hour, and there's a nightime one that's a full hour (apparently alligator eyes glow in the dark!UURRGGHH!)
