DH and I have wanted to do an airboat ride for a long time. Always seems like we run out of time. We leave this Thurs. and want to do this on our last day, on the way to MCO. Has anyone else taken the ½ hr tour? Is it worth $40?

It's worth every penny. Boggy Creek do an excellent airboat tour (for something really different try the night time tour...but you will have to book that one in advance). We've done Boggy Creek tours many times and every time we take someone who hasn't been they tell us it was a highlight of their trip. It's a great change of pace from the parks, the drivers are incredible at finding cool things to see, they're patient with your questions and they make you feel like family when you're there.

Also, Boggy Creek now have a Swamp Buggy tour for a veiw of the land side of things. We had a tour before they were really 'open', and we saw a lot of wildlife up close. Plus, the truck they use is incredible to see. Your kids could sit inside the wheel where a hubcap should go. It's that big!

OK, I have to ask! Doesn't this freak anyone out?? My daughter has shown some interest in this and I'm sure it would be quite an experience....... but I don't think I could do it. I don't know much about it-- but isn't it a fast ride on a little boat through alligator / crocidile infested swamps? The thought absolutely terrifies me. What if we fly off or something? I know I'm being dramatic, but- it's a possibility isn't it? I did do Gatorland, and while we enjoyed it, I wasn't particulary comfortable on the bridge. Whats the scoop? Is it like I'm envisioning it? So far, I've managed to be very vague with DD & DH saying things like, - maybe someday- etc!
