BOG wasn't open last time we were there. I know people love it and ADR's are hard to get. I was wondering what does everyone like about it? Is it just seeing the castle? Beast & Belle are not there, right? It's seat yourself, but you have a server? Sorry so many questions! Thanks.

At dinner, Beast is there and you are seated (TS), At breakfast and lunch, no characters and you seat yourself (CS), but they do bring your food to you at your table vs having to find seating while carrying a tray, the atmosphere is incredible, and the food (at least at lunch, haven't done breakfast yet) is above the normal CS quality.

Thanks! Hmmmm....I didn't realize he was there at dinner. Now, I'll have to decide breakfast vs dinner! So, even though breakfast is CS, they still take ADR's?

Breakfast - new since spring, yes you need ADRs. Counter service, all adult meals $20 but includes drink and plate of pastries to share. Menu non-traditional and food served on real plates like a table service. No characters. Pick your table and then your food is delivered to you. Real plus is if you can get a pre-park opening so you are ahead of all those coming in park.

Lunch - Yes you need ADRs. Counter service, variety of french influenced meals and all items are bought on own. Served on real plates. If on dining plan then it's a really good value. Food is better than most Counter service locations. No characters. Plus is a nicer lunch for Counter service prices and credits.

Dinner - Yes ADRs because it is table service. You may request a room but they will seat you where they want. Traditional table service. Many are not wowed by menu (I'm going next week after cancelling about 5 times due to menu). Beer and Wine served. After you eat you go through the library to meet the Beast on way out.

Beautiful restaurant. Only way to see it is to eat there. All three meals = ADRs. At all three meals you can walk around and explore all three rooms.

We prefer the CS lunch, and yes, you seat yourself and a server with a cart brings your meal. We've eaten there for several trips now, and love the ambiance and experience.

Thanks everyone. This will be a tough decision. Breakfast to get in the park before it opens and avoid the RD crazy crowds or dinner to meet the Beast!

Do both! We are for our upcoming trip.
Breakfast on the first day and dinner our last night at WDW!

Was there for lunch during a summer month, and a big plus was being a nice cool place to eat and relax for a while!

Want to say that there are many who prefer lunch over dinner and vice-versa; we've been there for both and MUCH prefer dinner ( which we've eaten there 5x). While the atmosphere at lunch-and probably breakfast-can be chaotic, it's not that way at dinner. The ballroom is always loud, including at dinner, simply b/ of it's size and the way the tables are set up. But the other 2 rooms are great, especially the west wing which is our favorite :goodvibes While the price increase from lunch may be a negative, meeting the Beast is a positive.
I feel it's hard to get b/c it's still somewhat new and it's a castle. However the food, IMO, IS very good! We really don't get excited about any other TS in MK even though CP and LTT are good; we're doing BOG again in Nov. and Jan. So I also think it's popular b/c while it has its detractors it does have good food for all meals. And the inside is beautiful with great theming so it's most definitely worth seeing :)
Good luck getting at least one ADR! I like the idea of trying for a lunch and dinner, breakfast and lunch, or basically 2 different meals. One trip we did lunch and 2 dinners.

Doing both next week :yay:
