"At Be Our Guest Restaurant, I recently posted about an exciting new dinner menu coming this summer, and I now have the scoop on the fabulous dessert trio. This trio will have a raspberry macaron with lemon filling and fresh raspberries, a whole maraschino cherry dipped in dark chocolate with hazelnut topping, and a white chocolate Chip cup with our signature Grey Stuff! It will also be exclusive to the dinner menu."

Really? a chocolate covered maraschino cherry and a macaron? Chip is cute with the grey stuff at least but this is not remotely a signature dessert.

What do you think? a sickly sweet artificial piece of "fruit" inside chocolate is not a step up from cupcakes!

I am fine with it because I am not really a dessert person, and anything raspberry as well as chocolate covered cherries are two things that I like, otherwise I would probably pass on dessert all together even though it is included. I agree though that it leaves a lot to be desired as a signature dessert though.

My thought exactly, how lazy. I've had better dessert samplers at 1 credit restaurants.

Chip is adorable but seriously dropped the ball on the other two.

Most desserts are Blech to me any ways. But I really love that tray! ::yes::

What ya think? Available for purchase with your meal? :D Only way to get is is book dinner.

Cute presentation, but I think these dessert sampler plates are such a bad idea. There's always bound to be something on it that someone doesn't like, or is allergic to, or on the flip side, something they'd prefer to have a full-sized serving of. Makes prix fixe a much harder sell if someone is now paying for a dessert they may not want or be able to eat.

Love Chip! Love the tray!

Not a fan of maraschino cherries, but I guess you don't have to worry about freshness, maybe? Not sure what to make of the macaroon...

That is a really sad showing for a 2 credit meal.

Chip and the tray are adorable, just not enough for a 2 credit experience.

They should do a tray count for every party checking out........

I see biting that macaron with it shattering to pieces
while the berries and their juice squirts out.

For a fancy signature meal,
I want to use a spoon with my dessert ...

Keep Chip and add these French goodies ..
... and let me be fancy ... :snooty:

Agree - macaroon too dry! I like these desserts better but do I still get to keep the tray? I didn't really discover crème brulee until the last few years and now I love it! I love chocolate and raspberry!

I do think Chip is very cute! But I do agree they need to step it up as a signature meal!

I have a soft spot for cherry cordials—you know that bonbon with a maraschino cherry and syrup inside a dark chocolate shell. They were my late mom’s favorite sweet.

But one of them as part of dessert trio? How big can a cherry cordial be? Seems mighty skimpy.

When we did the Disney Dining Plan and got dessert at every ala carte, they were always impressive. Creme brûlée at Chefs de France, Bailey’s mousse at Coral Reef, white chocolate mousse with berries and cajeta in a fried tortilla shell at San Angel Inn, Ger’s bread and butter pudding at Raglan Road, etc.

Disney can do much better, especially at a signature.

So no choice of deserts? Not liking the fixed price option.

At signature restaurants my husband and I usually split an appetizer, get a salad or soup each, an entrée each, and either skip or share desert.

So here we would end up with TWO of these? No thanks

I wouldn’t really consider booking BoG without kids - I love it for the magic and visuals, not the food. This seems pretty on-par; very kid-focused. PERFECT for kids. I personally don’t think it looks appetizing at ALL. Well those fresh raspberries themselves look yummy :)
