BOG prepark, is it worth it?

Is it worth it? Whenever a question like this pops up, I recommend that people do the following. Picture yourself in the alternative scenario, and right in the middle of it, STOP (like in the movies where time stands still and you are the only person who can move), and ask yourself: "How much would I pay, right now, in real dollars, to extricate myself from this situation and transport myself instantly to the better alternative?" So for this scenario, you want to ride the Fantasy Land rides at park opening with little to no wait. You are debating keeping your PPO ADR. Your alternative option is to arrive before RD...go through the regular security check line...find a place to stand for an hour...get pushed and elbowed as you go through the tapstile hoping that everyone's fingerprint will read lest you get passed by 1,000 people...get run down by strollers as you make your way down Main Street...promise yourself that you won't be one of "those people" who run, but you find yourself running anyway...and then making your way into the 7DMT line worrying about how long the Peter Pan line is going to be once you exit your coaster ride. So...picture yourself mid-way down Main Street having already endured the bag check and the hour long pre-RD wait. In your mind's eye, imagine that time is standing still and you are the only one who can move. Then ask yourself: "How much money would I pay not to have endured what I just endured, and not to have to endure what I am about to endure?" $10? $50? $200? Only you can answer that. But when you do, you will have your answer as to whether or not it is worth it.

We've done both and the photos with the new procedure are still very good/fairly empty.

With the old procedure, we'd go about 2/3 of the way down Main Street and stop for a picture. This year, we walked quickly down to the very last photographer.

You can also get some great shots if you go slightly to the right or left of the castle and take your own photos. They won't be totally centered, but they'll have next to no one in your frame. I also like to take pictures of my kids in the archways on the Tomorrowland side.

Sounds amazing!! Thanks for the tips!

we have been happy with it. We have done it twice, good experiences both times.

We did it and took our time down Main Street, taking pictures, went into BOG, had a cupcake, used the restrooms and lined up for mine train. We entered the park at about 8:15.

thanks everyone! I will keep both since they are not back to back, and I will definitely bring a Ziploc bag for our spare pastries, what a great idea!

Can I ask how long it took for breakfast?
We have a 9:25am and were hoping to get in line at Enchanted Tales afterwards without having to wait too long.

Breakfast is QS, so if you can preorder, that will cut down on time. You could easily be in and out in about 30 minutes.

However, the park will already be open at 9:25, so lines will already be building. I don't know what the normal wait time is at ETWB. You may want to check the wait times app now to see what the lines are around 10:00 a.m. to get a feel for what you'll be facing.

Darn it. This was our plan but I just realized we booked bog for early breakfast on a Tuesday. (This is in January.). Does this mean it will be a EMM day and our benefit will be minimal?

We did it this summer, since the new opening and it worked perfectly for us. We were the first in line and got to open the castle. We were NOT the first at the gate but lots of people stopped for pictures and we did not. Preordered our meal with is HUGE time saver. Food was there is like 5 minutes tops and we were done and out by8:30, easy. Rode SDMT then PP right before 9 and were in place to head to adventure land when the masses were let in.

At 8:00 it took us about a half hour but I don't know how things go later in the morning. I've always been there right when the place opens.
