Need some help! My fam is going to WDW for the first time this Nov (my 2nd), our BOG dinner reservation is the same night as a Party for the Senses at the Food & Wine Festival. PFTS is obviously a lot more expensive and as it is I'm on the fence about the cost. BOG isn't a dream restaurant for anyone in my family but me (and I've already been) but they do think it sounds kinda neat. We are in WDW for a week, with Xmas parties I think BOG dinner is running 5 of those nights, I'm watching for reservations for 4 on another night but obviously not seeing anything. WWYD? BOG or PFTS? (Once in a lifetime type trip, don't know when/if my fam will go back to WDW.)

Yes, it's definitely like trying to compare apples & oranges. If you are looking for a once in a lifetime experience PFTS would be it. As a veteran F & W festival attendee I have to say I've only attended PFTS once and that was many years ago before they started with the tiered offerings. Back when I went it was only $95. Even then I made the decision that it was a one & done because I'd rather spend my money on some of the more exclusive offerings like the events in France & Italy. I can attend at least two of those for what one PFTS ticket costs & I personally find the smaller events much more enjoyable. I have attended some special one & done F & W events over the years that were like smaller versions of PFTS, some were good some not so much. Did the 3D Dessert Party once & felt it was way too much sweet for a whole event of that length. If money were no object or someone comped me a ticket I would probably do PFTS again but every year I think maybe I'll go back & then I find better events to spend my money on. If you want to splurge on PFTS I would do that & try for a lunch or breakfast ADR at BOG. I really enjoyed the food at BOG lunch & you have a better chance of getting the ADR's for that.

Because PFTS is only on select nights, I would opt for PFTS and try to change your ADR for BOG to another night. And this is coming from someone who loves them both! :)

PFTS it is. I now join everyone else in the hunt for the elusive "after your 180 days" BOG dinner reservation :sail:

More like apples to kumquats!

I have friends who go every year, one actually heads down just for the party. Being DVC and ap holders makes that easier!

I haven't done the party yet. I don't drink and dietary restrictions make it not really worthwhile for me. But someday!

Enjoy!

Oh, make sure you read up on tips and tricks. Did you know a wine lanyard is a real thing?

Will do! And OMG I had no idea!!

Balancing wine glass and plate of food is hard! There is a sticky thread on the main food board for the f&w show. Stalk it!
