BOG Kid's Menu at Lunch

I saw reports on another thread that kids who are just over Disney's "adult" age were not allowed to order from the kid's menu at dinner and were forced to order "teen meals" instead. Is this also enforced at lunch when it is a QS venue? My 11 year old wants the pork dish but there is no way she'll eat the adult sized portion. I am hoping that the policy is in effect only at dinner time when the restaurant is TS.

We had dinner at BOG two weeks ago and both my DS11 and DS12 ordered off the kids menu without issue. In fact, the hostess offered the kids menus when seating us without us even having to ask. We did leave a good tip though to compensate for the lower check amount ... our server was excellent! Also, for breakfast I was able to order a kids meal and had no problems doing so.

DH and I ordered off the kids menu for lunch at BOG last summer. No issues, although we did order online ahead of time. But I'm sure it wouldn't matter either way.

Considering there is no such thing as a "teen meal," I'd say they didn't know what they were talking about.

I assumed they meant the deal where they did double the kids' meal portion for double the kids' meal price.

Yes, that is exactly what they were talking about. At dinner they had to order the "teen" grilled cheese portion which came with 2 sandwiches instead of 1 and it was double the price.

I've usually never had any problem with my picky 10-year-old ordering off the kids' menu. However, at dinner at BOG last month I asked if he could order the kids' grilled cheese. There was nothing on the adult menu that appealed to him, plus he had been snacking all day and didn't have an "adult-size" appetite. The server said no, but that he could get a "teen-sized" grilled cheese meal. The only difference was that there were two sandwiches instead of one and it did not include a drink and a dessert, and it cost around $15. My son ate ONE sandwich and a few of the fries. I thought it was silly to make him order a "teen" meal when he is ten, but I guess the alternative was an adult meal that he wouldn't have eaten.

o_O Disney consistency at it's best ............... and at double the price, I'd be demanding double the sides and two desserts to go with it.

Dinner is supposed to change to a prix fixe meal later this month, so everyone who is over 10 will be paying for an adult meal at dinner time I think.

What was the food like on the kids menu??? We sometimes do this at WDW at food courts, but some kids meals are better than others! We were thinking of both ordering French onion soup and then splitting the adult size carved turkey sandwich on baguette.

What's a "teen meal"? :confused3:confused3:confused3

According to another thread:

We had ordered the soup and grilled cheese, which I thought was good. DH wasn't super impressed, but it's pretty basic. We had also ordered something called "Feast a la Beast", which I don't see listed on the menu any more....I really like that one.
