My sister is going to WDW in 3 weeks and just got this invite. At first she was all excited because they love this restaurant and have a tough time getting in.
She called me yesterday to share her experience with trying to use the invite code to get a reservation. If she's right, I think she's understandably upset, but I haven't seen this reported anywhere else, so who knows.
She said the invite was good for only 2 days (of her 8 night trip). On those days, good for reservations between 11am and 1:30am only.
Plus, one of those days was her arrival date! So I guess she technically has her
DVC room booked for that night, but she's not even arriving until after the 11-11:30am booking window.
To add to her woes, while she's going to MK 3 days (she has a 7 year old daughter and MK is her favorite), the second date her invite is good for is a day she has planned for AK.
So she tried rearranging her FP+ and other dinner/lunch bookings to move things so she could do the second date at MK for the BOG lunch.
She had absolutely no luck. FP+ for what she would need to switch to MK on the current AK day are not available. A character meal she had booked was also not open for the switched dates.
Have others had this experience? Now I know my sister goes a bit overboard with booking character meals and meet and greets because of her young child, but that locks her in at this late date, making the BOG invite, as she explained it to me, tantalizing, but essentially useless.
