Bog fp

I've looked everywhere I can think of for this answer, so I hope someone can help! I have 2 rooms/reservations for our May trip. All the info comes up on MDE in reservations that connects all 4 of us, all our dining reservations and all 4 tickets. But when I go into the BoG FP+ reservation page, it will bring up my DH and me only, not all 4 of us. Apparently, I will have to make 2 reservations for 2 people, one using my log in and one using one of our DSs log in, and hope that they will be able to get us 4 seats together. Am I wrong, and if so, what would I need to do to make 1 reservation for 4??? Hope you aren't totally confused! :rolleyes1

If it comes down to making 2 reservations for lunch, don't worry about the seating. You find your own seat so just get a 4 person table. There were plenty of tables when we were there (using FP+) which bothered me a bit since there was a huge line of people waiting to get in. They could have definitely accommodated more people based on the available seating.

I had to make 2 BOG FP+ last October for my room and my sister's. Our times overlapped and we checked in together and were sent into the restaurant together.

I made the reservations on the website on a computer, one reservation in Internet Explorer and one in Firefox so no issues with cookies or anything. It was pretty easy.

Does this FP+ reservation count as one of your three for the day or is it completely separate? Not going till August but I am already trying to plan! :)

Nothing available for May 3rd or 4th

Do new times open up?

Typically, times for the month will open up the month prior around the 15th-ish. So check mid-April for May dates. Watch the restaurant board and you will probably see a thread when the May dates open.

As of right now, no, it does not count as one of your three FP+, so it is totally separate.

No, I think that's why they are not showing it on your FastPass+ list to avoid confusion. We did this in October and are doing it again this Sunday. It's a great feature and helps you plan your day a little better.

I just wanted to come back to this thread to report that even though I was never able to get the BOG FP website to work properly for me, I had no problem checking in for my reservation. They didn't seem to have my name at on the list first but I had my screen capture showing my "confirmed" reservation date and time. They didn't even ask for it. They just punched a few more buttons on their computer screen, found my name and sent us right in. Very easy and efficient. The lunch was worth the effort. I hope everyone has the same easy success that I had.
I am glad it worked for you... but some CM managers are putting their foot down! I did NOT have my printout with me and they could not find the reservation. So then they wanted to see my email invitation.:bitelip: The manager said that would not be fair for everyone else?! Okay...uhm, I did not see them checking everyone else's ïnvitation... so I think, for now as long as there are no glitches and you have your print-out you are safe.

Strangely enough, I had received an email invitation the day before I left for Disney, so I had printed it out as well. But even with having an official invitation to dine there, I was never successful in getting the website to behave properly for me.

I am glad you didn't have any problems at the podium. In the future when all the kinks are worked out, we will look back and laugh at all the stories we had to tell about "the good old days"! Lol! :dance3:

I have a question...

My friend and her daughter will be at Disney when I am. I added her and her daughter as a friend in MDE. (But I haven't invited them to share plans.)

When I log in to the BOG FP site I can only see those in my party (i.e. those that are on my resort reservation) - just me and my sister. Can't see my friend and her daughter.

How can I add my friend and her daughter to our BOG res?

I picked the option where I ordered meals in advance. Should we switch and do the "cut the line" option so the four of us can go?

In other words can my friend and her daughter tag along with our existing 2 person BOG FP if I pick the cut the line option?

I'm on lookout for May 1st. There's been a couple threads which indicate May hasn't been loaded into the system quite yet. Hopefully it will soon!

I was able to get one for may 4th a couple weeks ago.

We are in Disney now and used our FP+ BoG lunch. We had no problem at the podium checking in - she found me in the system right away. The problem was when we got to the next step inside our pre-order didn't show up. I swear the CM expected it because he immediately told me to just re-do the order. Not a big deal especially because we didn't have to wait in any lines.

They can't just tag along. You still have to go through a FP scanner at BoG after you get inside. If only you and your sister have the FP+, your friends won't be able to get in with you on your FP+. just like they couldn't get on a ride with you unless they had their own FP+. Does your friend have an MDE account? If she does, or if she can set one up, she should try to get a FP+ for her and her daughter for a time that overlaps yours. The FP+ return time is a half hour interval, so it's quite possible. You choose your own seats, so even if you go in before your friend, you can get a table and wait for her to join you.

That's what I wound up doing. I got her 12 digit number and booked her FP. :D

Thanks for your advice!

I booked overlapping BOG FP+ times and did the expedited arrival option. So we'll enter together.

And with that option each group will order at a kiosk and then we can sit at the same table and they'll bring us our food, correct?

Does ordering meals in advance save a ton of time or not really?

Yes, they'll bring the food to your table. They find you by tracking the RFID chip in your Magic Band or admission ticket. Preordering saves a little time but not a ton. You'll still have to go through a bit of a line to get to the FP+ scanner. The thing you won't have to do is stop again to order at a kiosk. That doesn't take much time in and of itself, especially if you've checked out the menu and pretty much know what you want. The delays can come if the family in front of you is indecisive or can't figure out the ordering system. But, even so, ordering doesn't take more than 5-10 minutes because there are several kiosks. We never preordered because I never know what I'll feel like having at the time. From the time we entered the building to the time we sat down at our table never took more then 15-20 minutes, and that was with ordering at a kiosk.

Perfect! I appreciate you answering my q's!

I was for preordering just for my planning neuroses sake lol. But my sister wants to pick the day of.

If we were to wind up preordering how would that change the process? Would we just check in get our rose buzzers bypass the kiosks and sit at a table together?

Since I didn't pre-order, I can only guess. The FP+ scanner must show whether you've pre-ordered or not, since we were immediately directed to a kiosk to order. I believe others have said that they were asked at that point if they wanted to change their orders. If you are set with what you ordered, you'll probably just go on in and choose your seats.

I have tried pre-ordering and the order was never there  so I ended up going through the line every time. I believe if you pre-order you will get in line up to the first CM who gives out the roses. There you will be directed to a cashier to confirm and pay... (I think!) I am almost positive the first CM does not scan your band for payment purposes since I have never seen this happen. Also I am sure they want you to confirm your order. :scratchin

Scenario 2 is you go to the first CM and receive your rose (or get your Magic Band scanned) and then find a seat in the dining room. When they bring your pre-ordered meal to you they would then re-scan your band with the portable and give you your receipt at the table.

I think Scenario 2 is less likely because they want to avoid mix-ups with orders so they would want you to confirm and pay before they bring it out.
