BOG FP+ for May

I just called the Disney Travel Company at 407-939-5277 & they said "The website is accurate HOWEVER you are randomly chosen to participate by getting an email invitation as early as a week & half before your trip & on the invitation you will have a special 12 number that is different from 12 reservation number. Your 12 reservation will bring up your information with dates to select, BUT it may not work or work & it's not spouse to work. If you are making FP+ reservations without the invitation & you show up & they won't let you in even if you bring the print out showing the times you still were not invited to join & you still have not right to us the FP+. This is only in early TESTING stage like when they first started the FP+ not everyone is getting one because they need to workout the kinks. It will in future after the testing will be available for everyone if all goes well. People using the system without the invite are putting the testing phase at risk for error. They are aware people are doing this & they are going to start asking for the invites more often." This is what I was told today so you get a FP+ without the reservation just know they can turn you away.

We were not given an email to participate in this in January. We still made a fp+ for it and were admitted with no issues. I just think they are trying to keep too many people from getting the fp+.

We will see what happens when I try again for our May trip though

Agreed, if you call Disney directly they are going to give you the official response and whatever else to try to enforce the rules. And yes, if you know it's an "invite only" system but you still are able to book, you should be prepared that they can turn you away (and you have no right to be nasty about it :)).

Of course we all know that this "loophole" can be closed at any time. I was able to take advantage of it in December with no issues and hope to also in May - with the knowledge I may be turned away. But, and I truly mean no disrespect to anyone, the more people call Disney and inquire about it, the sooner Disney will be aware of the issue and shut it down. If you are not comfortable assuming the risk that is totally understandable. I would just hate to see the website access be shut down due to people calling too often about its validity.

Great point!! Just let it be and see what happens. Plus, of course, let us know how it worked!

For sure, the only ones who have a right to be mad would be someone who got the invite. We all know that we should not be using it; if someone who got the invite last summer had not posted the link and instructions here, we would never have known it existed.

We used the BOG FP+ back in October, I printed out the ressies and was not sure if we would be able to get in. I was near the restaurant about an hour before our time and stopped at the building where you check in to verify and we were on the list and we were. If not we would have gone somewhere else for lunch.

And people have been posting for months suggesting that calling Disney about the BOG FP+ calls attention to the "loophole" but they keep calling anyway.

Hope everyone who booked the FP+ will be able to use it.

Completely agree!!! Don't let them know their system has a loophole!!!! :cool1:

When I called Disney the guy told the BOG FP+ lunch is one of the most asked FP+ questions a day because its not one the attraction FP+ list & the customer heard about the loophole. I have idea why they haven't fixed it if they are so aware, but I'm not complaining because we want one too. :)

I am wondering now if they are holding back the May ressies b/c they are going to change how it's done? with the new roll out of offsite being able to prebook at 30 days now and get bands, this could change the "testing"??

I am jumping on here to watch also if and when they open FP+ for BOG. We were lucky enough to get a FP+ for our trip last September. While I was not a fan of the food and the restaurant that much my sister is joining us for our May trip and I know she really wants to go. So for her and everyone else waiting I really hope it happens soon! pixiedust:

We are staying at the Grand in May and I reached out to IPO asking about FP+ for BOG and they gave me the link and said to keep trying to book via the link. They said it was completely random on when they open it up- some were opening at 180, 60, 30 and then sometimes it just opens the day before. She said to mark it as a favorite on MDE and they think (but don't know) that might put you on the email list.
But my point is if you get through and have issues at the desk you can always say IPO gave you the link.

It is a service offered if you stay at a Disney Resort's club or concierge level.

For me, things have changed. Everytime I used to log in, I would have to add my reservation number. Now I don't and it looks like booking a regular FP+ but for meals. It pops up with my reservation start date, but still says no times available.

Anyone else seeing this when they log in?

After I entered my reservation number a few weeks ago, this is how it's always looked for me. So I always have to go through the selections before seeing "no times avail". Every once in a while I have to re-enter my user name and I get all excited thinking maybe something changed and today's the big day but no....

We're hoping to get a late May date too! I check every evening and every morning, so I'll keep y'all posted too:)

I'm jumping in as well! We are trying to book a lunch FP+ for May 28 to celebrate our 9 year anniversary!!

Can anyone help me out with this? The page for lunch says enter your reservation # but mine has letters and it won't take? What the secret?

It's the 12 digit, all number "reservation number" associated with your reservation, rather than the "confirmation number" that contains letters and shows up on the MDE reservations page. There may be a way to find this online, but I couldn't figure out how to do it. I called Disney and they told me :)
