We have a BOG ressie for 8:15pm on Friday, April 7. Wishes is at 9:00. Is there any chance we will be done before Wishes. Are they typically running behind? Or any chance if we check in at 7:45 or so that we might actually get seated early? I've never had dinner at BOG, we've done the PPO breakfast a few times, but DS only request this trip was to meet the Beast and ride Splash! So if we have to dessert only that is an option as well.

I'm checking constantly for an earlier time and hoping to nab one!

There is pretty much no way you could eat at any TS restaurant and make it in and out in 45 minutes.

You can ask at 7:45pm but they generally will not seat you any earlier because they have other ADR's they need to think about.
If it was a much less popular restaurant such as Skipper's Canteen (which personally I found amazing) they could probably work you in but not an uber popular one like BOG.

You will not make it. I went in September, on a party night. Not many people there at all and it still took over an hour (hour and 20 minutes maybe??) from start to finish (we had dessert, that probably added 15 minutes). Then it was another 10-ish minutes in line/getting pictures with Beast.

I can imagine April being a lot busier and the restaurant being full.

They won't even let you check in that early, never mind seat you. They don't allow you to check in any earlier than 10 minutes before your ADR and they almost always run behind. The least amount of time we have waited past our ADR (and this was about a week ago) was 15 minutes but most of our waits have been a lot longer. Even once your pager goes off you still have to wait a while for someone to seat you. There is no way you will make Wishes.

Maybe I will get lucky and they will be running so far behind, I will get to catch Wishes before going in for dinner :)

No way you will make it. I've been twice and had to wait approx 15 min to be seated then you have to order and wait on food to arrive. You should plan on catching Wishes another night.

Unfortunately, this is our only MK day :( I'm going to hope for an earlier time slot and if not, the kids may just have to decide whether the fireworks or the Beast is more important. Last year, DS slept through the fireworks, so I have a feeling I will know which one he chooses! lol

We have another free day during the trip so I'm checking both days to see if I can get an opening then too. I scheduled a February trip 6 months in advance and had every ADR perfect. We had to cancel last minute and I rebooked, but obviously ADR availability is crappy at this point!

You can most definitely check in early, I just did a few weeks ago. My ADR was for 6:55 and we were tired and hungry so we got there at 6:30 and I asked if we could check in and they checked me in and we were seated about 10 minutes later. So it is possible, maybe not likely but they did it for us.

Consider that the OP is going at what is going to be a busier time.

Here is our secret.....
We usually make our reservations at BOG about 45 minutes before Wishes. Hope to be seated on time or a little later, so we can order our drinks, an appetizer and ask for our entree to be served after the fireworks. We enjoy our appetizer and the walk out to the bridge to watch the fireworks (which is a great viewing area, and not crowded at all). After the fireworks, we come back to the table and the CM is bringing out our plates. Great meal, great show and a photo with the Beast....life is good!

This is a really great idea. I know it works and is recommended for Cali Grill. I don't know why I haven't thought of it or even heard of it here for BOG.

Since Wishes is on its way out, I'd cancel the BOG ressie and try and see the fireworks. BOG, and the Beast, are going to be there for the foreseeable future.

That would be perfect! I didn't even realize that was an option! Thanks!

I would consider this but it will likely be 2-3 years before we will be back. DS is 4 and my mom is making him a replica Beast costume to wear to the dinner, while DD 5 is dressed as Belle. I don't know that I will get my 8-9 year old son to be quite as cooperative in a few years ;) lol

And keep checking. Even the day before or day of. At the 24 hour cut off things seem to open up a bit

I would check several times the two days before, even that day and see if you can move it up a bit, we have done this many many times with BOG and CRT and gotten in just before, like within 48 hours. The one thing I will say, is keep your receipt if you do change within 48 hours, I have had them charge me the cancelation fee but they always refund it to me, I have never needed the receipt but it was good to have just in case.

You can check in early. They may not be able to seat you right away but it doesn't hurt to try. I'd also keep checking for an earlier time, especially the night before as that is when things can really open up with people cancelling.
