BOG dinner now $60 adult, $36 kids 3-9

We just got back 10/1/18 and the BOG prix-fixe was a big disappointment. We paid $55 each which would have been OK if the food had been good. We tried 5 of the appetizers and they were terrible. I thought the onion soup would be a sure thing but it was so sweet I couldn't eat it. The octopus was tough and fishy, the salad was blah, lobster bisque was not tasty. The steak was good and so was the bread. The thing that really bugged me was that they no longer put on table clothes and have the red napkins folded like a rose. We ate off a cafeteria type of wood table, it was not special. We will not be going again and I could not recommend it.
How do you screw up ONION SOUP?!

Aww, the roses were such a classy touch :(

BOG was always our favorite. I'm so sad about this. We are still planning to go, and pay $60 each for our 12yo and 10yo. I really hope the food does not disappoint.

It disappointed me. It was okay but so not worth the $55pp we paid. And the atmosphere was cafeteria-like with bare tables, and the service was slow & the waiter initially gave us someone else's bill...

Many of the videos I've watched, its so dang loud in there. Definitely something that is not conducive to a $60 plus dining experience.

For dinner do you have to get your own drinks, too? Real classy.

No they serve you drinks at dinner. Only breakfast and lunch quick service do you get it yourself

After not being able to get an ADR for our trip last year, I really wanted to eat there this December. I just happened to snag one at the perfect time for the Christmas party. I am just not as excited as I should be. If we decide to keep it, this will probably be the last time for a long time.

I think it is very tacky to stop putting tablecloths and the Rose napkins on the tables. That did make it slightly more classy. We have always enjoyed our dinners there and will go again this coming June but might be our last time. We used to enjoy skipper canteen but last time we thought the food was rather blah and now we only would go for the Kongalush (Sp?) and Fanta melon frosty drink (and yep I am aware that those two things would be nasty together but we love both lol). I really wish MK had a true signature restaurant. Sadly we can’t come close to affording club 33

They never had tablecloths at dinner, though.

I would swear I read somewhere that Belle is there with the Beast now? Is that true? It would make the price more bearable.

:sad2:

I was looking forward to trying the octopus because it looks so good in the pictures. I wonder if this is "the usual" or if they were having an off day.
