BOG breakfast - worth the hype?

I personally love this restaurant and would recommend it to you whole-heartedly, especially because you love Beauty and the Beast! I have had lunch twice and dinner once there. My preference would be for dinner. I had the grilled strip steak which was good but the mussels were amazing! The Grey Stuff for dessert is a must-try...I have no idea what it is but it's good! If you can't get an ADR for dinner I would absolutely go for lunch, I think the key is to get in line either early or really late. The braised pork is yummy but heavy and I'd go for something lighter in the summer. The croquet monsieur is good as well as the French onion soup. Overall I have no complaints and I'd go again and again! Plus, booze at dinner is a bonus :D

We have our first Breakfast ADR this April, but have had two dinner ADRs since its opening. We loved our strip steaks & frites for dinner. There were a few other entrees that were a big hit with family and friends. It was also nice to get a picture with the Beast after dinner. Having a wine & beer option for dinner was an added plus in MK.
Is the picture with the Beast on memory maker?

We do lunch or breakfast BOG every trip now. It's worth see to see the coke dispensers BTB style.

We thought the breakfast was really good and a great use of a quick serve in the dining plan. Too expensive if paying OOP though, so I'd only go back on the dining plan.

The whole "value on the DDP!" argument is fairly bogus.

Basically, it's one of the hyped places they've inflated the cost of OOP to "defend" the value of the DDP.

I agree with this statement 100%. I have no doubt in the near future Disney will turn this into a TS credit and eliminate it as a QS. I also believe Disney will charge per person in the near future as well instead of allowing the splitting of a breakfast sandwich or someone just ordering a cup of coffee.

Right now I don't blame anyone for doing this, it is allowed and is fine. But Disney is not going to sit back much longer IMO and watch lost revenue. They will milk this thing for what it's worth and will extract as much as they can from those willing to pay for BOG. I'm sure there are plenty who would pay $50 for a donut here. Lol. Again, just my opinion.

I feel it is over hyped. As stated above..open faced sandwich was cold by the time it arrived..cold eggs on toast bleh! Love the castle decor but it is really just a big loud cafeteria. Loved early access to that side of the park..would I do it again? hmmm another meal yes. A better breakfast menu ..yes. All the time I spent hunting the reservation..watching, checking, watching, nope wasnt worth it..that part I wont do..not worth working that hard for.

Breakfast is a mixed bag.

On the plus side:
Early park entry - great if you are bringing a first time visitor
Not your average QS breakfast - can only eat so many Mickey waffles
Pastry platter means you fill up - we kept a few for a snack later on
Experience location - it is very pretty inside and Beast is on hand

On the down side:
$25 breakfast - price has gone up just since the summer
It's loud in there - the comment about the cafeteria was spot on
I have heard the pastries aren't as good - chocolate croissant is gone

Still - hard to argue with the head start on the day!

we loved it. We all thought the breakfast was good and the portions were plenty. The trips thru 7D also made it fun. We liked it so much we made ressies for a PPO breakfast two days later. I was stunned that I could get an adr while I was there, but we did.
