We currently have a mid-November reservation for a PPO breakfast at Be Our Guest. I have a TouringPlans alert scheduled for a BOG lunch on the same day, thinking I should switch the breakfast for a lunch. However, a coworker with lots of Disney experience told me that he prefers BOG breakfast to lunch. Thoughts? If it helps, our daughter is 4 and not that picky with food. Also, dinner is not an option for this day (we already have another reservation). Thanks!

ETA: Poll posted above for easy responses!

We opted for "Dinner" because we hope to get a photo op with the Beast. From what I understand he only shows up at dinner.

Thanks, but we already have a dinner reservation on that day. I'm weighing just breakfast vs. lunch.

I have only been for lunch but IMO lunch is probably the better option.
Often times those PPO breakfasts now end up not being PPO because Disney decides to finalize their hours only a couple weeks out so you may have zero advantage.
I am not a huge fan of breakfast foods or more than just a small bite to eat that early in the day and the prices you pay for breakfast food from BOG is just plain ridiculous to me. Not worth it in terms of money and not a good use of a dining plan credit either.
I enjoy the sandwiches offered at lunch and find that my money is much better spent. Plus IDK if you can get cupcakes at breakfast and I cannot go to BOG without getting a cupcake lol.

Thanks, you have lots of good points. From the menu, it looks like you can still get the "grey stuff" Master's Cupcake at breakfast.

I've done both lunch and PPO breakfast. For both meals it was nice to not have to fight through a crowd with a tray full of food and beverages. The self serve, unlimited refill beverages were also plus, especially at lunch. I think it really depends on your plans for the day (do you only have one MK day? Is fantasyland your first stop?), how/what does your family like to eat and what time you are trying to make the lunch reservation (will it be too close to dinner?).

I enjoyed the food and the price of lunch much more. My boys barely touched their breakfast. Getting a jump on the RD crowd was very nice and set us ahead of the crowds.

Thanks! We are spending two days in MK: first full day of the trip and last full day. This reservation would be on our second MK day because the first is booked with CRT, Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, and the Very Merry Christmas Party. I have a feeling we'll be spending most of our time in Fantasyland both days because my daughter is OBSESSED with princesses.

Breakfast gives you the best value for your QSDP, overpriced for OOP but I like the food.
Lunch probably gives you the best value for your dollar, good menu for QS and a good value for QSDP.
Dinner gives you the Beast but the rest is not worth it, not the menu nor the OOP/DDP value.

PPO breakfast is great for a ride on Mine Train and for having more available tables to choose from than at lunch. Lunch has tastier food imo, but it's all good food at BOG.

This is really helpful! Thank you! We are using a standard dining plan, so the value is definitely important. I should have included in that in my original post!

I think others have covered it, but my vote was for lunch.

However, I would hold on to any PPO breakfast just to get into the park early. If it turns out the hours change, then you can reconsider. That's what I'm doing. I prefer the food at lunch (well to be fair I haven't eaten there at breakfast, but overall it seems I would like lunch better), but I booked a PPO breakfast to get in early. If they end up opening the park at 8:00 instead of 9:00 I will be certain to dump it.

That's a good point. I'm trying to let go of any reservations I'm not planning to use as soon as I make that decision, so they can be available for other people to grab. But in this case, it makes sense.

I've had breakfast and lunch at BOG several times. I like breakfast there, but not as much as I like lunch. I love the turkey and roast beef sandwiches. The French fries are also very good, and I really like (my "healthy" option) the green beans Jardiniere. I also love the strawberry cupcake. If that was available for breakfast I would eat there every MK morning!

Forgive me but don't you need to cancel reservations within 24 hours otherwise you have to pay a fee?

Keeping the reservation but not USING the reservation just to get into the park early seems like an expensive way to get an hour (or so) of time in the park just to be at the front of a line for a ride.

I am also with @JudyHopps about cancelling them as soon as possible. First to ensure I am not charged, but also so others could take advantage of the reservation as well. FWIW.

BOG is my favorite MK lunch. I love the preorder and not having to stand in a quick service line. I'm stressing because I'm worried we won't even be able to get it for our December trip.

We did the BOG PPO one time last year and I found it stressful trying to hurry my family through to be in line for 7DMT, only to discover that the ride was down for a few minutes at park open and we got the same 1 ride as the main entrance people. Obviously that doesn't usually happen but it was stressful enough for me to not do it again.

We love the food at breakfast, and hate hate hate the food and atmosphere at lunch. Lunch is in our "never again" category, and breakfast is a "must do every trip."
