BOG Breakfast- Updated December Park Hours

SOOOOOO frustrated right now!!! We reserved breakfast at BOG for two days of our vacation for 8:00am. Well luck would have it that Disney updated their park hours for December, and both of those days the park opens now at 8:00am!!!

I don't know what to do now. Is it even worth it to keep the reservations at this time? Do they even let us into the park a few minutes early before the masses?

Even though I was banking on having an early breakfast to score a ride on 7DMT and Peter Pan before the crowds really filed in, I'm just more upset that Disney changed the park hours this close to our vacation!

It's not all that close to your vacation- you have at least several weeks. It's customary for park hour to change, especially during busy times.

What's the main issue? You can easily cancel your breakfast reservations if you don't want them. If you get to the park early, you can still ride the rides you wish to.

Ride the rides at rope drop. Cancel the 8:00 breakfasts and if you want to eat there, try for a later reservation. I was able to pick up a reservation for 7 people the day before we went at 9:45AM. We really enjoyed our BOG breakfast and it wasn't crowded at all at 10AM.

My main concern is that because this is a busy time for the parks, we won't have the advantage that we were planning on having by being in the park before opening for breakfast. We were also looking forward to taking a few pictures in the park on our way to breakfast with minimal crowds also going to their breakfast reservations. I am considering keeping one of them, but only if we can still get in at like 7:45 or something a few minutes before the masses. Really don't feel like being run over by a crowd on my way to breakfast

When this happens to me, I usually see if I can make a later bfast ADR. That way we're able to take advantage of being in the park at rope drop, do attractions for an hour or two, then taking a break and eating breakfast.

Check for new fp...I just managed to get one for 7dmt on 12/12 in the am. We had an 8:30 at CRT and I was disappointed that they changed it open at 8 but, you may luck into a fp.

Yeah, I understand your frustration. You've invested a ton of time and energy into a plan and then it dissolves right before go. I hope there's a trip report on how it all worked out for the best and it winds up being the best trip ever.

I would dump them, unfortunately. This happened to me once when I was going in December, but we had an 8am CRT. I ended up keeping it because it was my first time in the castle and I really wanted to go. But I dont think that was the best choice. BOG is a good breakfast, I think, but not worth missing that golden first hour after rope drop. If you are interested in breakfast there try and move it to 9:45 one of your days!

I've had this happen multiple times with an early Crystal Palace reservation. I've canceled the reservation. It's really common that MK opens at 8:00 AM around the holidays and other busy times.

Yep, in the same boat as we had 8:10am BOG for an 9:00am MK opening and booked it 6 months ago. In reading the threads I knew it was a high likelihood the park hours would change and was prepared for it, although secretly I was leaning to not wanting them to change. Luckily I had a lunch ADR at BOG for the same day so we'll cancel the breakfast ADR, get there are park opening for 7am and take advantage of the earlier hours and get more done before the crowds really come in. It is what it is and now we are excited for the earlier hours I hope it works out for you too but yes, I'm with the others I'd take advantage of the earlier 7am opening. Since you have two days with an 8:00am BOG, perhaps keep one of them?
