BOG breakfast or lunch?

On our first day we plan on doing rope drop at MK. We have a breakfast reservation at BOG at 10:20 but also have a lunch reservation at 1:40. We plan on heading to Epcot in the evening with dinner at Le Cellier at 7, then illuminations. I was excited about the breakfast but have heard mixed reviews. But is the lunch one too late that we won't be hungry enough at Le Cellier? I can keep searching for lunch reservations at an earlier time, but it seems like the breakfast time is most convenient (snack/granola bar on bus, RD, hit some rides, then breakfast (more like brunch), more rides, get a snack or eat leftover pastries from BOG rather than full lunch, then hop to Epcot and do dinner there. What do people think?

I would keep looking for an earlier lunch, even if you have to break up your party and look for reservations that are close together. 10:20 am is prime touring time, IMHO and 1:40 pm is too close to Le Cellier. I would also suggest pre-ordering for any meal at BOG. The ordering line gets REALLY long.

If you're going to rope drop I'd keep the breakfast. You can get in and out of there quickly.

Keep looking for an earlier breakfast time...like 8 am for 9 am park opening. It works great.

I was able to get an 11am lunch (booked it under a different MDE so I currently have both).

So which food is better? Lunch or breakfast? We will probably be on the DDP so cost isn't as much an issue.

Also, it's only 2 of us, both young adults. It is also a Halloween party day, and only a 1/10 on touring plans, so don't expect many crowds-we will leave before party guests can enter park. And we will be going back for dinner later in the trip.

Another question, which room is better? I would probably be interested in West Wing or ballroom. Which should we try to get for breakfast/lunch and which should we try to request for dinner?

Food-wise we have never been overly impressed with breakfast or lunch. It's all about the atmosphere. We use BOG primarily to get in the park before opening - that's what makes it worth it to us! I would be happy with your 11:00am reservation though if getting in early doesn't mean anything to you. We always choose the ballroom.

Totally agree with this ^^^
And even though we found the breakfast to be pretty good, I don't think it's worth $25 an entree. However, if you're on the DDP, it's a good use of QS credits. Lunch has more price point options if you're paying OOP.

haven't eaten lunch there, but breakfast was FANTASTIC! They also bring a plate of pastries which we put in baggies for later in the day :)

I don't think you choose between those two for the food. The food at those two meals is meh at best. I would choose based on fast passes and your dinner plans.

Definitely skip lunch, food during lunch is mediocre at best. If lunch would be your first ever experience at BoG, I bet it would still be special and better than average, but after breakfast, I would be very disappointed.

For lunch, mom and I split a croque monsieur and each got a dessert. That was plenty. For breakfast we each got the open faced bacon and egg sandwich, which was quite tasty, although not 100% sure it was worth $24. The lunch sandwich was only $14.00. We did each get dessert with lunch, and instead you have pastries at breakfast and don't really need dessert, but still not sure breakfast was worth $24. Although I would probably do it again for PPO. So, if price is a factor, I'd go with lunch.
