What would you say the average wait time @ Be Our Guest is before getting a table even with a a dinner reservation? We have a 6:30pm ressie, but we do have a 2 yr old in the group. Need to make sure he doesnt get too cranky :rotfl:

I think it's largely going to depend on the day.

A few days ago, we waited about 20-25 minutes. We were just discussing whether we wanted to tell them we were leaving, and our pager went off.

In past visits, our waits have been much shorter - in the 10-15 minute time frame.

Maybe several others will chime in here and you can get an average. :) have a great trip!

that's not too bad. I was reading some reviews on TripAdvisor and stumbled across a few people say they were waiting for 45-60 minutes.

I wonder if it also depends on the party size. On Sept. 27th, I have a reservation for a party of two and only waited about 10-15 minutes before my pager went off. :thumbsup2

I would imagine for larger groups, like 6+, maybe it's longer? :confused3

WE have been to BOG 3 times and it seems when you checkin the people checking persons in are condescending at best. Maybe it is because all ofthe people who show up requesting a reservation at that time so maybe they haveto place people who can handle this at the checkin. Than they move you to another holding area and you have to wait a good 20 minutes. I feel like the people who work there really hate their jobs. IMO. The food is not at all what one would expect the way people rave about it now maybe its great compared to counter service options but really? Anyone else have this experience?

We had a dinner reservation there last January. It was just two of us and we checked in right at our reservation time. We easily waited 30-40 minutes. We were very close to walking away.

The food is average at best. The steak and scallop pastries are great. Other than than, not alot of great choices. We continue to go for the ambiance... not the food. We are usually about 15-20 minutes (went three times in Sept).

my DW is already eye balling the shrimp/scallop dish - i myself am probably just going to do the steak and then share the strawberry cream cheese cake and the grey stuff, obviously! LOL

anyways - looks like about everyone is on avg a 30-45 minutes. not too bad.

keep'em coming folks! thank you all again

I had the shrimp & scallop dish, and it was divine. The potato & leek soup was delicious, too! My server was amazing... But the host, not so much. I really enjoyed my experience and am going to try my best to land another dinner reservation for next year's trip. :goodvibes

I'll be sure to tell the DW about your meal.

Off topic, but do you think the hosts' attitude has to do with the bombardment they deal with on a shift basis with the walk up questions? :confused3

i thought everyone in Disney is supposed to be happy :scratchin

Well, I should be more specific. The hosts at the podium weren't bad, just busy. I got there a few minutes too early to check-in, so I sat and waited for about 10 minutes until I could. In that time, I watched no less than 4 people walk up and the hosts have to explain that reservations are required. I felt pretty bad for them. I would imagine that it's hard to keep on the bright and sunny Disney veneer when it's that repetitive, especially when that repetition involves disappointing and potentially upsetting people all day long. I've worked in customer service for 20 years, and I know that situation would wear on me badly. I wish they would post a sign or something.

The host that was bad was the one that came to fetch me once my pager went off. I guess he didn't get the memo from the first set of CMs that my Party of 2 had become a Party of 1... Me. (When I originally booked, there was a slim chance of a friend joining me. It didn't happen, and I went solo as planned.) Once I told him, he just acted REALLY confused and awkward about it. I watched the family before get let in, and the host introduced them to the stone gargoyles in the foyer, referred to them by name, and I'm sure lots of other cute things that I didn't see once the door closed. But my guy literally just seemed lost once I told him it was just me. Didn't do anything cute or fun. It was totally weird. :confused3

However, my server, Adam, TOTALLY made up for it. He was lovely and charming and even hooked me up with a little "special occasion" plate of the Grey Stuff, despite me not having a special occasion. :rotfl: He rocked!

Totally understand what you're saying. I truly feel that your server at these type of restaurants are going to make or break your evening. Like the time we waited an hour to be seated at the rainforest cafe even with reservations, sat down and our waitress sucked and was in such a rush almost dropped my ribs off my plate and onto me!

Thanks again for everyone's input. At least I know what to somewhat expect. 15 minute prior to ressie is suggested arrival time or would you suggest earlier? I've never done a park ressie before

What about the BOG lunch with fast pass? I'm going to possibly be in a time crunch to get to 7DMT if it's too long a wait.

I arrived 25 minutes before my reservation, and they said I was too early to check-in. Hence why I sat there for about 10 minutes, watching people approach the podium and get turned away. I don't think they'll check you in more than 15 minutes prior.

Good to see a fellow New Englander here!! :thumbsup2

Honestly, everyone else has said arrive 15 minutes prior to your reservation.
With that being said, I would still try when your friend checks in and see if they be able to do something for you. It never hurts to ask!

We finally went last night and checked in at 6:15 and our reservation was at 6:30. We were called right around 6:40. Not a bad wait at all.
