Can you get any walkups at lunch at BOG? Decided on last minute trip about 6 weeks ago to WDW to celebrate a birthday and couldn't get any reservations when I tried. Any luck?

When I was there in June we were checking in for our lunch reservation and heard them turn away several people.

It wouldn't hurt to ask but I would keep checking several times a day to see if anything becomes available.

Maybe its just Me, But We had a BOG Reservation last trip and I wasn't overly impressed. We didn't book it for our next trip next week.

It's not just you. Lots more bark than bite, IMO. We weren't that impressed, either. Certainly not worthy of all the hoopla.

Lots of people are admitting that the menu doesn't even appeal to them (especially at the prices being charged there)...hence all the sharing. But, those same people are still panicking in trying to book a reservation. I just don't get it.

Disney is laughing all the way to the bank.

There are automated services like Disney Dining Buddy that will check for openings round the clock for you (for a fee).

Walk ups to BOG are as rare as seeing Beast in the park.

However, it's amazing the number of last minute cancelations there are to BOG. Be sure to check the MDE experience one or two days out and while you are at WDW. I find the best times are after 8:00 pm or before 6:00 am (Eastern). Just checked the next two days and there are three breakfast times available both days and a lunch for the day after tomorrow.

The key is persistence. Keep looking and you'll make your own Pixie Dust.

thank you!!

First, I have to disagree with those who say it is not worth all the hype. We ate both lunch and dinner there last trip and they were some of my favorite meals all week! We also felt like the prices were pretty reasonable for dinner and being able to use a quick service lunch for the quality and quantity of food was a great value. I did hear them turning many people away when we were there, but keep checking. I do see reservations becoming available often as people change plans. Good luck!

Keep checking, cancellations open even to the last minute as people get sick, finalize their trips and let go of multiple same-location bookings.
As for a walk-up, everyone I know has been turned away and those who haven't waited over an hour.

I would agree with this, I was looking for dinner for the next day when we were down there last week. I hit the wrong time so lunch pulled up instead, and there were several times open for BOG lunch for the next day.

I agree with those who say its not worth the hype. After you have gone once, that's enough.

I do not think walk ups are offered very often. I think BOG is worth the hoopla. I have had lunches and dinners there and all have been very good. I have ADR's for breakfast and lunch in December and am looking forward to trying breakfast there for the first time.

We had reservations for lunch yesterday. They turned people away with reservations if they were more then five minutes early because they were so busy.

I think BOG is worth it. We have eaten there multiple times for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We like the food, the atmosphere, and the theming. I think we eat there once or twice every trip. We always have reservations though, and while the pp is correct that they won't let you check in very early, they don't "turn people away." They just ask you to wait to check in until it's time. We usually just stand off to the side for a few minutes until the time they have told us to check in. I wouldn't try walk up at this time.
