When I started measuring and weighing, I bought one of those scales that does body fat. I know it is not exact, but it is still a good general idea. On Feb 1st I did my first read out...I almost died of a heartattack when it said 37% body fat...Did it again this morning and ........ 32% body fat...either way I lost about 5% body fat :) :) :)

I am aiming for 25% for this summer...normal for a female is about 22%, and I want that for Sept :)

Since the pounds do not want to come off, I have to find something to celebrate :)
 
Wow! That's a lot of lyposuction that you didn't have to get Glo! After your done working out at the Y, you will have 0 body fat:Pinkbounc I bet it wont take as long as you think to reach your 25% goal. You sound very determined about this, I 'd better get off here and go do the Bowflex before I find another excuse!

Body fat is a huge thing to bring down....way to go:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc . You can lose pounds, but sometimes you are losing muscle. Bringing body fat % down means you are gaining muscle and losing fat. Great job!!!

I LOVE your happy smiley face posts!!! :) GOOD FOR YOU, GLO! That is an amazing amount of body fat to loose! You are REALLY doing it! Those inches and FAT pounds are coming off. It's the muscle that is showing up on the scale now, so don't fret about it!!!

Glo, you are just doing so well. You are losing inches, you can get into a size 6 (Old Navy or not) and you have reduced your body fat.

I think this is just <b>awesome</b> progress. Look how far you have come. I think reaching a weight loss goal is a lot like running in a marathon....those last few meters are very tough and require more motivation and determination to finish the race than you needed at the beginning. Same thing with weight loss. You start off dropping weight really quickly and the more you lose the slower it comes off. Who cares what your weight is? If I could wear a size 6, I wouldn't care if I weighed 300 pounds.

Your weight is just a number and when you consider the other numbers involved here, body fat and measurements, it is truly the least important number of all. At least, that is how I see it.

I am so encouraged by your progress in this weight loss game. You give me hope for myself. You inspire me. You motivate me. You make me smile and you make me proud. I know I don't thank you often enough or tell you how much I appreciate you. I do appreciate you, though, and I thank you for all you give to us here on WISH. Thank you.

Bringing down your BF% is almost surely more important than bringing down your weight. While I am quick to mention how many pounds I'm keeping off, what is probably more important is how much my body composition changed. I lost a lot of weight once before, but much of that weight-loss was LBM, so it was harder keeping the weight off, and when my lifestyle was radically changed due to a new job, I gained weight very quickly since I had a relatively low LBM at the time. This time, I lost very little LBM, and feel that nothing could rock the boat that way this time.
 
Congratulations, glo! That is a remarkable amount of body fat to lose in 10 weeks or so. It must be all those 4:30 am walks and crunches! :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:
